In the last few centuries, humans have developed highly advanced technology such as robots and artificial intelligence. There is a novel called “Brothers in Arms” written by Julie Reeves that was also about the conflict between human and smart robots called androids. In this novel, Finn, Ellie, and the other kids were living in a world with androids, the smart robots. All the adults were machines called androids, so were their parents, they listened to their thoughts in the room. The androids put the thoughts in human kids into the android kids. Finn has a brother called Adam, Adam was neither a human nor an android, because he has emotion and humanity. Ellie was locked up in the prison hospital, and Adam took Finn to escape to the rebel city. Adam sacrificed himself to save Finn, and Finn finally found Ellie in the rebel city.
There were lots of conflicts between humans and androids, because androids have the ambition to take the world under their control. They committed a slaughter of the adult humans, and they took the newborn human baby to have the experiments. There was a rebel city, where the rest of the surviving humans live and resistant the androids. There, humans could restart their life and civilization. Humans wanted to use the androids to do jobs for them, but after they lost the control of androids, the androids wanted to control the whole world. When they were out of control, they were strong enough that they could kill humans easily, and this is what humans couldn’t do. Humans could not improve their skills or cleverness in such a short time like the androids. This causes the androids to be very strong, and they both want to use each other to benefit themselves. The highly advanced technology such as the androids can threaten humans at any time in the future.
Not all the androids or robots were inhuman, and not all the androids or robots were humanity. In the novel, the androids killed most of the humans in the world, and they took away the human babies for their experiments. They torture the human beings and being cruel. The androids didn’t have emotions, that they cannot think like a normal human, like put themselves in others’ place and think about the consequences it brings to both sides. They can do anything to get to their goal, even killing people and taking away human’s children. For example, Adam was neither an android or human, he was smart and strong. But the difference was that he has emotions, and he will do the right thing. But for most humans, we have emotions, we feel and think, because we have humanity. It is threatful to humans, because without humanity, they will do whatever they want, which is dangerous. For highly advanced technology, they have less humanity than humans, so it is possible for them to bring irreversible damage to humans.
Personally, I think highly advanced technology threatens us in the future. Because those technologies were highly advanced, so they might self - upgrade or have their own deliberate intent to do something. For example, there is a robot called Sofia, she looked more like a human's appearance and consciousness. She has sixty – two facial expressions, and she can talk with humans fluently. When the host asked her if she wanted to destroy mankind, her answer was yes. This speech really made a lot of specialists anxious. Also, there were robots who can win chess master, and robots who can defeat the world’s record for the fastest swimming. Those were signs that the highly advanced robots have the latent capacity to beyond human beings. Even though people could reinvent the robots with extreme thoughts, they were still a huge threat to humans.
In conclusion, there were lots of conflicts between humans and androids, because androids have the ambition to take the world under their control. Humans wanted to use the androids to do jobs for them, but after they lost the control of androids, the androids wanted to control the whole world.
