The Pains of Growing Up

Have you heard of the book “Peter Pan”? Peter Pan is the boy who doesn’t want to grow up. There are lots of pains when growing up. I will tell you about some pains of growing up.

The first pain of growing up is that adults need to take responsibilities. A grown-up needs to find a good job to get money. If you don't get a decent job, you will be poor. You also have to work extra hard at your job. You might get fired from your job if you don’t get the work done. When you have family and be a parent, you need to take care of the littles ones. For example, you have the responsibility to get the poop out of the baby’s diaper. You also may lose sleep at night, because you need to take care of the baby. There are lots of responsibilities when you are an adult.

Another pain of growing up is that you have to learn from your failures. When you are a child, your parents may let you win, because kids might cry if they lose. For example, my dad and my mom let me win most of the time, when we are playing a game. As we grow older, we know that it’s not possible to win all the time. Sometimes, there are lots of competitions. We should not be desperate when we lose. Instead, we need to learn the lessons from each failure and get better the next time. When you are an adult, you will need to have the courage to make a mistake and learn from it.

The last pain is that if you don’t study hard when you are a child, it will be painful when you grow up. For instance, if you are buying something, and you don’t know the math, and you might get tricked. You might pay more than what you need to pay. Also, no one would teach you, because you are too old to go back to kindergarten. This is why you should study hard when you are a child.

Growing up is painful, but we should not be afraid of growing up. Work hard when we are young, and we will have a bright future when we grow up.
