The novel “Three men in a boat” was written by Jerome K. This novel was mainly about three men who lived in the nineteenth century, and they were going on a vacation because they think they have to get rest. Three friends decided their holiday was going to begin next Saturday. Harris and the author were going to Chertsey by boat, and George needed to work, so he will meet them there. Sometimes, their behaviors and actions were somehow ridiculous and funny. When they were packing, the three men had made a lot of senseless mistakes. They put the heavy things on the fragile things, they sat on the butter, spilled salt everywhere, and they sat on the things they were looking for. Personally, I think this is the funniest thing that happened in the story.
One of the biggest reasons that caused the three men to make such a senseless mistake, was because they didn’t know much about how to do the basic things just like packing up. In the novel, it was obvious that those three men were struggling on how to pack up their stuff that they needed to bring to the trip. This showed that they were not having problems with money, because they had got everything they needed, but they didn’t know how to organize things correctly. It was such a ridiculous thing that they have done with breaking a cup at first, and then they squashed the food. It seriously explained that they didn’t have enough daily common sense just like a simple pack - up. This shows that they have a lack of daily common sense to know about how to organize and take care of the things they brought to the trip.
The three men were messing up while they were packing up, such as stepping on things. And it elucidated that they were not being enough careful to the things which belong to them. In the novel, they have put things behind them, and they didn’t notice that. When they needed that thing, they just couldn’t find it. It shows their lack of responsibility for taking care and being aware of their belongings. When they were messing up, they wasted things, and it was not appropriate for treating their things like smashing them and destroying them. It was their responsibility to take care of their own things, and their behavior of how to deal with the things they have taken was not right. What they should be doing is taking good care of their things and being careful of them. Because the consequence it caused was that they couldn’t find their things, and things being wasted.
The excitement of the three men to travel was understandable, but they should not be messing things up just because of their excitement. In this novel, the three men were acting funny while they were packing up. They sat on the butter, and put heavy things on fragile things. Sometimes, people will do wrong things when they are in a hurry or excited, but this basic mistake should be avoided easily. For the three men, the situation was getting worse. They upset almost everything. Commonly, the reason why people were getting in a hurry was because they wanted to make things go faster. But the result of getting in a hurry when doing things was to mess up everything, and decrease the efficiency. That is not worth it.
In conclusion, I think the funniest thing that happened in the story was when the three men were packing, and they made a huge mess.
