Story Review of The Princess and the Pizza

The Princess and the Pizza is written by Mary Jane. This book talks about a girl named Paulina, missing being a princess. At that moment, a page comes and says, "Queen Zelda is looking for a princess to marry Prince Drubert." Paulina frantically searches for her princess's stuff and leaves. There are 12 princesses at the palace, including Paulina. The first challenge was like the princess and the pea. While she is sleeping, she feels a pea and can not sleep well. The next day everyone who is bright-eyed goes home, and 5 people are left.  The second round is to write an essay, and everyone passes. The third round is to wear a glass shoe. Two big-footed women went home. There were only three women left, Paulina, a long-haired girl, and a girl that followed 7 men. The last and final round was to make a feast. The other two women tripped Paulina and got all the supplies. Paulina tried to make something with the limited ingredients but gave up. Then she heard everyone would be beheaded if they lost, Paulina tried to cook her food and did not notice anything happening. When the time was up, She brought her food with her lucky garlic in it, and the Queen tried it, and they announced the winner, Paulina, who then named the food pizza. Paulina did not share her recipe with them but instead made it a family special. She also did not marry the prince,  but now when she does the princess wave, everyone waves back.

Fairy Tales are myths, legends, and most of the time, a prince trying to find a princess, for example, Cinderella. In the story, the queen is trying to find a bride for the prince, and Cinderella is not allowed to go, but her godmother comes and gives her clothes and a carriage. The story is the same with Paulina and the Pizza, but just instead of competitions, not a ball. The story also connects characters in fairy tales, like Rapunzel, who is described as a long-haired woman, or Snow White who follows seven men. This is the best fairy Tale I have ever read because there are many fairy tales in one book.

You should never give up while you're achieving your goal, as in the story Paulina almost gives up. She gives up at the cooking contest, because of the lack of ingredients, but still, she makes something great. When she gave up, Paulina fell asleep and heard the queen, saying if you lose you will get beheaded, so she cooks her food and hopes she wins. When she never gave up, she won. Even though the other girls made a real feast, she made something better. They even ask her to leave the recipe, but she says no, as she is making it a family recipe. When you never give up, you can make something magical happen, as Paulina did, she made pizza.

Life is not always fair, in the story, Paulina is not treated fair at the last competition. At the last competition, the long-haired girl trips Paulina, and she and the other girl take most ingredients. This is not fair to Paulina, but she made something great, even with small ingredients. In the real world life isn’t fair at the same time, because if you go against someone and they are superior to you, you cannot win. But if you practice more you can have a chance to win against them again. In life, the world is not fair, but that does not mean you should give up.

In the story The Princess and the Pizza, Paulina goes against eleven other princesses, at the end she has a choice to become a princess, but she denies it and makes pizza. This story is a fairy tale, because this is not true, and is just a myth or a legend. This is also not true for this is not how pizza is made. As in the story, Paulina almost gave up, but she made something spectacular, with the ingredients, by not giving up. Life is not fair all the time, in the story Paulina is tripped and she says it’s not fair because they stole the ingredients first. But still, she had made something more true than a feast. The Princess and the Pizza, is a great story, because it has a combination of multiple fairy tales, in one.
