Story Review of Strega Nona

Characters: Strega Nona, Big Anthony

Setting: in town

Plot: pasta is covering the town

Genre: fiction

The book <Strega Nona> was written by Tomie dePaola. It talks about a witch called Strega Nona, who helps the neighbors and cures headaches. But she is getting old so Big Anthony comes to do the work. There is one rule that is important .It is not touching the pasta pot. Big Anthony finds how to use the pasta pot so he tells the neighbors who laugh. Big Anthony makes lots and lots of pasta that almost covers the town so he eats the pasta all up.

Even though magic doesn’t exist, we still imagine if we have them. If we have magic, we are immortal. We have many lives, the world will be very easy. Strega Nona helps the town, she has a magic touch. People believe in magic because they think good luck will come. Magic isn’t true, but we still like to think about it.

When we show off, we boast about a power that we really don’t have. If we boast, it might result in a horrible thing. Big Anthony thinks he can control the pasta pot. But he can’t, at last he gets a punishment which is eating the pasta all up. We can’t show off because we might get a punishment.

When we do something wrong, we get a punishment. A punishment is a way to remind us of the problem and not do the same thing. Big Anthony makes many pastas and the punishment is to eat the pasta up. If we accept a punishment, we have a big problem that needs to be solved. When we get a punishment, we need to analyze and correct the wrong thing we do.

This story isn’t really but it has many morals. They are about showing off, punishment and magic. We don’t show off, instead of showing off, we should have our best behavior. When we do something wrong, we might get punished. It can help us to memorize the problem we have and never do it again. Magic is not really but many people still imagine if they have them, this is a good brief for them.
