Once upon a time in old China, there was a man who went to the gold rush, and came back very rich. And, he did what rich men do in old China, he married many wives, who had many kids, and those kids, got more kids. But, there was a girl named Ruby. Instead of getting married, she wanted to go to university like her boy cousins. One day, it was New Year, and she started to praise her cousins, and after, her grandfather. Afterwards, she got a lucky red packet from her grandfather, and it was not money, it was an invitation to go to university.
First, I learned that girls were badly discriminated against because a lot of people thought boys were better than girls. I think that in Old China, many people used men's power to help on farms, and girls were not as strong as boys, that’s why girls were treated poorly. In the story, Ruby, and her girl cousins were not allowed to go to university. I think that is wrong, even though boys might be stronger than girls, that does not mean that girls should be discriminated against. That is why girls were discriminated against in Old China.
Second, I learned that other countries have also faced unfairness for girls, like in Old China. There are also many countries like Yemen, and Syria that were unfair to the girls too, many countries are still being unfair to girls, even though things were better. I think we should solve this problem even though other countries are more fair to girls. First, we need to understand why, and second, we should talk about it more.
Third, I learn that everyone is born to be equal. Many, of us think that boys were always better, and stronger than girls, but many of that is not true, some girls could be olympics others could be an astronaut. In the story, girls will just get married, and go live in their husband’s home. I think that is wrong, we are born to be equal, and everyone is the same, and we have the same knowledge, only our body is different, but, we also have the same brain. That is why we are the same.
Even though a lot of countries let women do a lot of stuff that men do, we should still be equal. It doesn’t mean that girls are better than boys, I mean that we should respect each other, and everybody should be fair. And, we should also not bully someone if they are bad at something even if their a girl, girls and boys are equal, because we are all humans. That’s why being equal is important. But, it it is also harms boys, because they had to pay to more, and they are busy all day long.
