The Story of Rudy’s Wish is written by Shirim Yim Bridges. It talks about a girl name is Rudy. She can not go to school because she is a girl .I really like this story because it teaches us some important themes.
First, girls were not so valuable in old times. For example, in the story girls cannot go to school to study as the other boys. Girls at that time are not allowed to study reading or writing.they just need to learn how to take care of their husband in future. This is not fair, everybody is equal.
Second, it is very important for girls to go to university and have advanced education. Girls have the same intelligence as the boys. For example, in the story Ruby studies so hard and gets a letter from a university, Ruby as one of their very first female students. Girls can have the same chance to succeed as boys after having advanced education.
Third, females have all the opportunities as male in society. Females are hard working, smart, and tender. For example, in the story Ruby produces more calligraphy than others, she practices many times, and her grandfather is impressive. Without females, male cannot survive, society needs to balance.
Conclusion, I like this story, it makes me know that we learn girls were not so valuable in old times, it is not fair. It is very important for girls to go to university and have advanced education. Girls have the same intelligence as the boys. Females have all the opportunities as male in society. We have to thank those who are fighting for female rights and make the society more balanced.
