Plot: Peppe finds a job lamplighter, but Papa didn’t like it. This makes Peppe feel disappointed and didn’t light the lamps. At last Papa amends, and he lights the lamps again.

This story is about Peppe who lives in Italy with mama dead, papa ill, and eight sisters at home. He is finding a job. He goes to many places, no one wants him, until a lamplighter wants Peppe to replace him. He tells his family ,everyone except Papa is happy. Every day he lights the lamps, imagined it’s a promise for future. Papa is still angry, that makes him disappointed .So, Peppe didn’t light the lamps that night his sister Assunta didn’t come home. Every one is anxious because they can’t find her. Finally, Papa tells Peppe to light the lamps, he finds Assanta under the last lamp. Peppe helps her hold the stick and lights the lamp. Papa says he’s proud of him. From then on, Peppe lights the lamps once again.
People who work hard gives brightness, drive away darkness for everyone. People who work hard quit their hobby and personal time, make happiness for others. Peppe finds Assunta under the last lamp, takes his lost sister home. Peppe finds Assunta when dark hang over, he takes brightness. People who work hard, help others is sunshine. All work has their meaning of existence.
Surroundings affect the way how people think. People will be parochialism if they are short of good working, living ,and family surroundings. Papa hates the unseemliness lamplighter, he often shows his anger and disappointment. Papa’s bad feelings make Peppe uncertain about lamplighter, lose hope for future. Hopefully, Papa amends and changes his mind, he realizes the problem. Having good environment is important for growing. It gives us warmth, and tastes different life.
Respect and love is important in communication. Complain and hatred can’t solve anything. It just gives bad temper and gets things worse. Papa didn’t respect lamplighter, he thinks it is bad and insignificant work. Peppe didn’t feel love, and begins to doubt his job. Fortunately, his sisters comfort him. Then Papa is aware of lamplighter’s special, and shows his accept to it. Respect and love gives friendship, trust, and help.
People who works hard is sunshine that gives brightness. Surroundings affect people, it is important to have good surroundings. Respect and love is important for people’s feeling, it gives friendship, trust, and help. Light the lamps, make it warm.
