Story Review of Mr. Putter and Tabby See the Stars

Genre: Fiction

This story  is written by Cynthia Rylant, and it talks about a man who ate too many jelly rolls from his neighbor Mrs. Teaberry, and he could not sleep, so he went out for a walk with Tabby, his fine cat. When they were about to go home, they saw Mrs. Teaberry, and her dog Zeke on the front lawn, and so they chatted for a while, and went to sleep.

Pets are good friends, because pets could be company, helping, and they could clear people’s loneliness. For example, a girl goes blind, and she needs help. A guide dog could help her, if someone is lonely, pets could solve that too. In the story, Mr. Putter, and Mrs. Teaberry all have pets. I think that is ok because since they live alone, the pets clear their loneliness. If everyone had a pet, problems would likely be solved.

Be a good neighbor, because if you don’t then your neighbor won’t like you. For example, someone was a really good neighbor, they were polite, and nice, so the result is for their neighbor to like the person, if the person is a bad neighbor, not polite, and unkind, the neighbor will least like the person. In the story,  Mrs. Teaberry was a good neighbor to Mr. Putter. I think that is right of Mrs. Teaberry, because Mr. Putter is going to her house, everytime Mrs. Teaberry’s dog sends a note. If everyone was a good neighbor, we would have a friend.

Even though pets are good friends, we still need communication, because if you don’t use communication you might forget how to talk with other people. Also, you’ll be lonely because you cannot talk to pets cannot talk to you. In the story, even though Mr. Putter, and Mrs. Teaberry both have pets, they still talk together. I think that it is good because, even though they have pets, they still talk together. That is why we still need communication even if we already have a pet.

You should read this book, because it teaches us 3 good lessons: don’t eat too much, be polite, and nice, and we still need communication even if we already have pets. This book is great because it has cats inside, and I love cats! That is why you should read this book!
