Story Review of Goose's Story

The realistic fiction story “Goose’s Story” talks about a girl who meets a goose who lost her foot, so the other geese are mean to her. Then one day, the goose is gone. But the girl still thinks about the goose in the following months. The next spring, the geese came back and the girl saw the goose with one leg who was with another goose. Soon, the goose with one foot had babies.

First, I learned that everyone should live with their weaknesses. Everyone has weaknesses, but we need to conquer them to survive by using other things to help you overcome it. In the story, the one foot goose still managed to learn to swim and fly. She found a way to live with her disadvantage and prove that she is strong. So, we should find a way to conquer our weaknesses and prove that we are strong.

Secondly, I learned that it is you who decides if you are strong or weak. Because everyone has their opinion about you, but you are the one who decides if you are strong enough to reach your target in strength. In the story, the goose with one foot learned to swim and fly, even though she had only one foot. She believed in herself and thought she was not strong enough, so she put effort in learning how to swim and fly. Therefore, we should believe in ourselves, but don’t be self-conceited or you won’t listen to any advice.

Last but not least, I learned that writing skills are useful in writing. Writing skills can help us make detailed descriptions using verbs, using indirect descriptions to make sentences longer, and also to compare something or someone with another something or someone. In the story, the author describes the geese’s actions in detail and doesn’t tell the season directly, also the author compares the goose with one foot with the other geese. The author wants to make the story clearer and more interesting. So, writing skills can do a lot of things, including making detailed descriptions, and indirect descriptions, etc.

In conclusion, this story talks about a girl who met a goose who lost a leg. That one legged goose proved herself a strong goose and in the end the goose with one foot had a happy ending. This story teaches us that we should conquer our weaknesses, you should believe in yourself, and writing skills have many uses. This is a meaningful story.
