Plot: Andrew really wants Freckles.
The story Freckle Juice written by Judy Blume talks about Andrew wanting freckles. One day he spends fifty cents to buy a secret recipe of freckles from his classmate Sharon. It tastes very bad and doesn’t work. The next day he draws some freckles with blue markers. The teacher uses a smart way to let Andrew to wash off the freckles. And She praised Andrew and Nicky for their looking. She makes them love who they are. But Nicky still buys the secret recipe for removing freckles from Sharon.
We shall respect what we have and who we are. Some people want to get something they don’t have. They want to be special and try something new. In the story, Andrew wants freckles because he doesn’t want to wash his neck. He draws some freckles by a marker. Actually he can not change himself. Sometimes we look good if we don’t have any change. We should know who we are and accept our looking and characters.
Lying is a bad habit. If you lie, you probably will get a lot the first time. But people will not trust you any more when they find you are a liar. In the story, Sharon sells the secret recipe to Andrew and it doesn’t work. She gets the money but Andrew will not believe her. He will not play with her again. We shall not lie to others. It maybe can get some benefit but it is an untruthful action.
We can use a nice way to solve problems. Nice solution can make people happy and think the idea is great. In the story, the teacher finds Andrew has blue freckles. She uses a funny way to make Andrew wash off the freckles. She also tells Nick that he looks good with freckles. The teacher uses marvelous ideas to make Andrew and Nick know how to be perfect. She always praises them. Kind words and actions will always encourage others rather than direct and mean order.
In conclusion, we shall accept and love who we are even if we are not very perfect. We shall not lie to others, otherwise people will not believe us any more. We need to be kind to others and think of a nice solution for the problems. People will get confidence from that. The ending is also very surprising and makes me think. I learned a lot of lessons from the story and I like this funny story. Hope you will love it too.
