Story Review of Dear Juno

Character: Mom, dad, Juno.

Setting: United States.

Plot: Juno gets letters from grandma.

Genre: Realistic Fiction.

Juno was looking at the night sky, then he saw an airplane, he wondered if this plane came from Seoul where his grandmother lived. He then looked at the letter his grandmother gave to him that day. He waited for his mom and dad to finish chores because he wanted to know what the letter was about but he didn't know how to read Korean, but they were slow. He opened the letter carefully and knew that his grandmother got a cat because there was a picture, mother read to him. Juno showed the letter to his class, then he wanted to make a letter, he made it by drawing. Then, he got another letter from his grandmother, there Juno understood it again, the most important thing is that grandmother is coming!

Almost everyone has family love. Family love is wonderful, you and your grandma love each other and are nice, but your grandma and your mother are not like you and your grandma, your grandma is not as nice to your mother than to you. In the story, Juno has family love, his grandma really likes him and understands him, they are happy with each other because of this. This makes Juno a normal but happy family, they have normal and good family members. Family love makes us happy.

If we want to have a good relationship, we have to have connections. If we don’t have connections, we won’t be understanding others, and you don’t understand others, your relationship is not as good as before, you won’t have lots of words to tell with a person you didn’t know a lot. In the story, Juno is having a good relationship with his grandmother because they have a lot of connections, this makes their relationship very good. Except for having connections, it has to be good, you won’t like a person who says mean words. That is why we need connections.

When you have a good relationship with a person, you don't need words to communicate. When you have a good relationship with a person, you understand them very much, and you can know what she is thinking and doing without words. In the story, Juno and grandma have a very good relationship, so they can understand each other by drawings. Not only by drawing, you can understand others by movement, action, or even colors! This is why sometimes you don’t need words to communicate.

In conclusion, this is a story full of love. They have love by having family love, having lots of connections. We understand this because they don’t need to use words to communicate. The author also uses writing skills, he uses long sentences not to tell what Juno is looking at directly, which makes the reader guess and to think, he also uses a rhetorical device called simile, which uses as or like between to things to make the sentence more elegant. Finally I wish everyone can read this wonderful book.
