Plot: Juno can’t read the letter from grandma.
The story dear Juno is written by Soyung Pak. Talks about a small boy named Juno, he got a letter from her grandma. But he can’t read it, he must wait until her parents have time to read it for him. She found a little dry flower and a picture of grandma holding a cat inside the envelope. He knows that grandma had a little cat, and she grows flowers inside her garden. That’s exactly what her mom read to him after. He also wrote a letter to grandma; he used drawing instead of writing. His grandma sends back a box of crayons, a picture of her holding two cats and a toy plane. Juno knows that she is coming to visit, and she got two cats. She also wants another letter.
Family love is a very important thing. If we have no family love, we will be very lonely. No matter where you are or when it is, family will always give you love and keep you from being lonely. In the story, grandma is out in Korea when all her family is in the USA. If she has no family love, she would be completely lonely. But she is not, her grandson wrote her letters about what happens in the USA. She will feel a lot better if she feels the warmness from her son. This is family love; they can give you power and warmness when you are lonely. I think family love is useful and helpful.
We need to communicate to express family love. Communication can be a lot of ways, we could write letters, send WeChat, talk with QQ, and give a phone call. No matter what way we are using, we can communicate with family. In the story, Juno and grandma used letters to communicate. They express their love with each other. They tell each other their feelings, what they have, are they living well. These are all things that we could communicate about. If Juno and grandma didn’t communicate, they would all be so lonely, they would all be so worried if their grandchildren are healthy, if grandma is happy. I think communication is important.
Sometimes, we don’t need words to express ourselves, pictures and drawings are also a good choice. Pictures and drawings can also let people understand our ideas easily, but it is not as boring as words. In the story, Juno and grandma use different languages, so Juno drew a lot of things for grandma. We can all understand what Juno means, but it is a really interesting letter, it’s not only telling us information about us, it is telling the feeling of Juno. I think that drawing and pictures are a good substitute for boring words.å
In conclusion, I think that family love is really important, they can give us a lot of warmth when we are lonely and sad. If we are by ourselves, and we have no family, we would be very lonely, with no care. We also need to communicate in different ways with our family, if we are outside by ourselves, our family could use different ways to communicate with us, so we would have no worries, and feel very safe about our family. We don’t always need words to express ourselves, we can also use drawing, pictures. So it is not so boring, it has more feeling in it.
