Story Review of David’s New Friends

This story talks about a boy who makes two friends on his first day of school. David is a boy in grade 2. He doesn’t like Lizard. Tomorrow is the first day of school, he is very nervous about the new teacher, new classroom, and new friends. In his school. David meets a new teacher-Mr. Roy and happened a series of funny things. On his first day of school, David bravely changed himself and makes two new friends.

First, I learn that a funny teacher is important for students. If you have a funny teacher, you will be more attentive and more relaxed. In the story, David’s new teacher-Mr. Roy is a funny teacher. On the first day of school, everyone feels nervous, so Mr. Roy makes some funny things to comfort them. He looks for his glasses and chalk, spills juice on his slippers, and forgets to change his shoes. He is doing these to make students remember him quickly and relieves their nerves of students and make the class more funny and interesting. So, if you have a funny teacher in school, please treasure every moment with this teacher, he/she will give you a nice memory of school.

Secondly, I learn that everyone should be making friends. When you have some problems at school, friends can help you to solve them. In the story, David makes two friends on the first day of school. One friend is his new teacher Mr. Roy. David helps his new teacher to find chalk and glasses and gives him the napkin to clean Mr. Roy’s slippers. They help each other, David likes Mr. Roy and Mr. Roy likes him, too. They became friends. Everyone should have friends and true friends. True friends will help each other whatever, anytime and anything.

Last but not least, I learn that brave can help you to open the door to a new world. If you can bravely do something that you never do, you will find it is so easy and simple. There is some change in David. At the beginning of the story, David doesn’t like Lizard. He even doesn’t want to read a book about Lizard. But in the classroom, Mr. Roy wants David helps him to catch the escaped Lizard. David bravely grabbed the lizard and he found Lizard can listen to him and winked at him. At the end of the story, David likes Lizard and makes friends with Lizard. So, don’t judge anything by the way its looks. If you can bravely try to do something, the new world is coming.

David bravely changed himself and makes two new friends on his first day of school. This story tells us three things. First, a funny teacher is important for students. Secondly, everyone should be making friends. Last, bravery can help you to open the door to the new world. I like this book, I hope you can read this book with your friends.
