Story Review of David’s New Friends

This is David's first day of school. At the classroom, he sees a lizard which he doesn't like. David helps his teacher Mr. Roy a lot. Especially when Mr. Roy introduces slim and he runs away. In the end David catches the lizard and puts him back in the tank.

First I learn that we should focus on important things. We shouldn’t think too much of tiny unimportant things because it wastes times. For example, the day before

school, David worried a lot of things like: will he like the teacher? Will he make new friends? He should focus on school work ready. Does he forget his stuff?

Like me, I am always prepared on school days: check my uniform, my stationery. If I focus on the tiny things I may forget important school supplies or homework. We should learn to pay less attention to the tiny things, pay more attention to important things.

Secondly I learn from the story that we should be organized. Be organized is have lots of benefits. In the story Mr Roy is an unorganized person. At first day in school he couldn't find chalk, his glasses even he wear wrong shoes. If he is a organized person, he will know where is chalk,he will not forget his glasses and wear the right shoes. Being organized can help Mr. Roy save more time and be prepared that he doesn't need student help him.

Third, I learned from the story that we should do the best on everything even though there are things we hate. For example, David caught slim which he hates. He did that because if he didn't catch the lizard Mr. Roy will lose it. If we only care about what we like or not we may lose the important things. Like me, I don't like corns but corns are good for my health so I still eat them. We should do all the things in the best way. We can not depend on what we like or not.

I learned three points from the story. They are that we should focus on important things rather than tiny little thing. We should be an organized person and we should try our best no matter what we like or we hate .
