Story Review of Cook-a-Doodle-Doo

Characters: Iguana, Rooster, Pig and Turtle.

Setting: In the farm.

Plot: Iguana is always doing things wrong.

Genre: Humorous fiction.

Perspective: First- Person.

Cook-A-Doodle-Doo is written by Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel. It mainly talks about a rooster who wanted to eat more other kinds of food, so he wanted to make them himself, like his grandmother, the Little Red Hen. But, no one offered to help him. Finally, Iguana, Pig and Turtle offer to help him, because they all have different talents on cooking. So, they started, but Iguana was always getting the wrong thing they needed, and Pig was always asking if he could taste the mixture yet. Finally, they made the best shortcakes in the world.

Collaboration is very crucial, because it shows team spirit and working together as one group.

It improves the way our team works together and problem solves. This leads to more innovation, efficient processes, increased success, and improved communication. In the book, the Rooster wanted to cook, but nobody wanted to help him. Finally, Pig, Turtle and Iguana helped him, and they worked together to make the best strawberry shortcakes in the world. Furthermore, Teamwork is not just a group of people doing something. It's the ability to work with others and to help others attain their full potential and achieve the shared goals. Therefore, we need to work together as a team to do something wonderful.

Don’t blame each other, even though they did something really bad that made you super angry. Blaming others leads to several unhelpful emotions, such as resentment, anger, and hatred. We blame others for our behaviors, our thoughts, and our feelings that are negative. In the book, Iguana blames the pig for eating the cake, Turtle blames Iguana for dropping the cake, and Iguana blames Turtle for not catching the shortcake. Furthermore, The skill of understanding others helps us predict what people might feel in a certain situation, but it also allows us to make sense of how people react. Therefore, don’t blame others because it will hurt others’ feelings.

Learning from our mistakes is very important, because it helps us not to make that mistake again. But if we simply apologize and carry on as before, we're in danger of repeating the same errors. When we don't learn from our mistakes, we inflict unnecessary stress on ourselves and on others, and we risk losing people's confidence and trust in us. In the book, Iguana always gets the wrong ingredient or does something wrong. But, later in the book, he learned to get the right ingredients and be careful when doing something. Making mistakes at work can be inevitable, but it can also be a valuable growth experience. Showing that we've learned from our mistakes can also increase others’ trust in us and prove that we are willing to put effort into improving ourselves. Therefore, if we learn from our mistakes, we can be more perfect and improve ourselves.

From this story, the most important thing that I learned is to learn from our mistakes. Additionally, learning from our mistakes and viewing them as positive experiences can help increase our confidence and free us from the fear of failure. We can be sure that we won’t make this mistake again and again in the future. I recommend this book because it is amazing and tells us important ideas.
