The story Cook-a-doodle-doo written by Janet Steavens and Sunsan Crumel talks about a chicken that is making a strawberry shortcake with his friends. At first, he found recipes in an old pile of his great-grandmother’s stuff. He looked through the recipes and found one about a strawberry shortcake. He decided to ask around and see if anybody wanted to help him out. But the cat, dog, and goose said “not i”. But at least the turtle, iguana and the pig said that they could help and said what they could help with. So, they started to make it. The turtle read the recipe and the iguana tried to find the ingredients. But still, during the process, they made lots of mistakes and it's either homophones or mistakened tools. But they managed to finish baking the cake. But still, at the end, the iguana accidentally dropped the cake on the ground and the pig immediately ate it without a second thought. Here are examples of some problems and their solutions in the text:
Teamwork makes the dream work. You learn to help each other and make new friends. Teamwork makes things better than the other loners. In this story, people decided to help out by making the cake together and making a really tasty and nice cake. But it also has to depend if you get along with everyone. People work in groups because they put together the things they know and the things they don’t know gets solved by another teammate. Then, it would be equal to that you know everything and that makes the project really good.
Mistakes could be made a lot but you learn from mistakes so that's totally fine. But there's another kind. It is when you make a mistake but you don't learn it and do the mistakes again and again on the same exact kind. In this story, the animals knew how to react to mistakes and were always helping each other as friends. We don’t blame, the rooster isn’t blaming the others and somebody makes mistakes and you could find that we could write more for mistakes than carelessness. Mistakes are mistakes, we cannot try to not have any mistakes. It would always happen.
Friendship is important to us and all. Without friends by your side, you would be sad and lonely all the time. And only real friends make you feel comfortable. They help you to be happy and joyful. Friends also teach you things you don’t know but they do. Like for example in this story, the iguana is making a lot of mistakes and the rooster and the others didn’t blame him, instead, they taught him to face it and learn from it. Friends are for helping and tolerating. If you help me, I will help you. When we make a mistake, we teach each other. Friendship is an infinity sign because it's friends forever.
