Story Review of Cook-a-Doodle-Doo

Characters: Rooster, Cat (minor character), Dog (minor character), Goose (minor character), Iguana, Turtle, Pig

Setting: Chicken Coop, Kitchen

Plot: Rooster decides to make a strawberry shortcake, but everything goes wrong… and is soon solved after baking the shortcake.

Cook-a-Doodle-Doo is a book about teamwork. Rooster is sick of getting chicken feed, so he decides to make a strawberry shortcake from his great-grandmother’s recipe. Cat, Dog, and Goose don’t help him, so he is out of hope… until Iguana, Turtle, and Pig decide to help him. However, they aren’t very good at cooking terminology. First, when Rooster said they needed flour, the animals gathered a flower from the garden. Then, they used sift the wrong way, searching through the flour and throwing it everywhere! It became a mistake chain, ending with Iguana dropping the strawberry shortcake on the floor. However, they managed much better the second time.

Our actions play a large role in determining how others think about us. If we have a large part in your task, people will think positively. Otherwise, they may think of us as lazy. Pig’s only duty is repeatedly asking to taste the shortcake batter. This made the others think negatively of him, Iguana even going so far as wanting to roast him. They only calmed down when Rooster intervened. Pig didn’t do very much, so Iguana and Turtle don’t think they play a part in the baking. Our actions have their reactions from other people, and they can arouse conflicts if we don’t do anything, and resolve them if we do.

Teamwork can help negotiate conflicts and cause things to become better as a result. Even though teamwork can sometimes create conflict in the form of an argument among team members, it more than likely will resolve them. When Pig ate the shortcake, Iguana and Turtle wanted to punish him. However, when Rooster stepped in and reminded the animals that they were a team, they calmed down and worked together on the second cake. Team members should work together, not argue over things. This helps us know not to argue, like in the case of Pig, Iguana, and Turtle. Teamwork should not be the source of conflicts. Instead, it should be able to resolve many of them.

Mistakes are part of learning that we will always experience. ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍We should not be afraid to make mistakes, as they are inevitable and can lead to valuable lessons. When Iguana made the mistake of confusing flour for flower, he learned from it, and he didn’t make the mistake the second time. Mistakes can make themselves less common, which is why we tend to grow stronger over time. Even though Iguana keeps making mistakes, he learned quickly, so the second time was much easier than the first. Embracing mistakes and learning from them is crucial to personal and professional growth.

In conclusion, Cook-a-Doodle-Doo is an innovative book about thoughts about others, teamwork, and mistakes. It teaches us that others judge us based on our actions, that mistakes help us learn, and that teamwork can calm an argument. The plot may seem strange at first, with characters mixing up flour for flower and measuring flour with a ruler, but it is actually a book that will help all of us learn, and we can all benefit from it. Cook-a-Doodle-Doo is a charming and hilarious book about the importance of teamwork, filled with delightful animal characters and a heartwarming message.
