<Babu’s Song> is a touching story written by Stephanie Stuve-Bodeen. It's about a boy called Bernardi, who lives in a poor family with his grandpa Babu. Barnerdi can’t go to school, they make a living by making toys and selling them. One day Babu makes a music box. Bernardi likes it very much. The next day, when Bernardi goes to the market, he accidentally sells the music box for a handful of money. Bernardi plans to use the money to buy a new soccer ball but he remembers that it is Babu's money so he goes back home and gives the money to Babu, then Babu pays for him to go to school. Also, Babu makes a soccer ball for Barerdi. He is very happy.
Education is very important for all of us and we are never too old to learn. Every person needs to learn when they are small so they can have a good and perfect life when they grow up. In the story, Bernardi goes to school when they have enough money, they don't spend the money on a soccer ball. First thing first, they spend the money on the school tuition. Learning is very important no matter how old we are. We can learn things and have knowledge to do things like writing and speaking. Learning is very important, so instead of using the money to buy things, spending the money for the school tuition is the best.
We need passion to do things the right way. When we have passion to do a thing, we will have a lot of energy to do it, and it makes us want to keep doing it no matter if it’s hard or very difficult. In the story, Bernardi has a passion for playing soccer and he practiced it with the school boys. Even if his concern of making a goal doesn’t come true, it won't stop him from playing soccer. It is good to have passion for something, that will make us focus on a thing, and we won't give up if there’s any trouble that we didn’t want to happen, and also it makes us persistent for the whole career, or maybe if we practice enough, we can complete our dreams.
We need to have hope all the time. When we hope for something, we wish it will come true, and it might give us a positive feeling. In the story, Bernardi's grandpa Babu has an illness, which takes away his voice. Bernardi hopes that Babu can still talk, he hums a tune that Babu hums when he still has his voice, which gives Bernardi hope. Bernardi also wishes he can go to school, and it comes true. Having hope will keep us in a positive mood and might make us have some passion to do things. We should hope for the best in our lives.
This is a warm story about a poor family. This story also has lots of useful lessons that we should learn, first everybody needs to have education and knowledge for our lives when we grow up. Second, we need passion to do things the correct way, and make us want to do it, even though there might be lots of difficulty. Lastly, we should hope for good things, then it will give us a positive feeling in a good mood to make us do things in passion. This is a wonderful story that teaches us lots of useful lessons.
