Story Review of Alexander and the terrible horrible No good very bad Day

Characters: Alexander, Nick, Anthony, mom

Settings: Home

Plot: Alexander’s bad day

The story Alexander and the terrible horrible No good very bad day was written by Judith Violets. It talks about Alexander’s bad day: Alexander ate gum so in the morning he had gum in his hair, he dropped his sweater in the sink while the water was running, and Alexander didn’t get toys in cereal boxes while others had……

Incidents happen all the time, but that might not happen if we are careful and following the rules. We might drop something into the water or do anything we don’t know that will happen. In the story Alexander dropped the sweater in the sink but the water is still running. Some incidents are not planned, but can be prevented by being careful. Some incidents are good, like bumping into the desk and we may be careful where we walk next time. Incidents are not only bad, but also teaches us a useful lesson.

Sometimes people run away when there is a problem. They are afraid that they cannot solve it. In the story, Alexander always wants to run away to Australia when there is a problem. People just run away because they can’t solve the problem and they will be too nervous. Running away is not so good. We will not know anything until we solve the problem. If we do run away, maybe we can relax, but the problem still exists. So, solving the problem is the best.

Practice makes perfect. If we are not good at something, we need to practice more, it can help us to improve our skills. Alexander is not good at drawing and counting, so he practices to memorize how to draw and count correctly. Practice is important, without practice, we can’t do all things right. The first time might be a bit tough, with a little practice it will change into something big.

This is an excellent story with many lessons: It tells us about incidents that happen all the time, but it can be prevented if we follow the rules. Some people run away when they are facing a problem, but running away is not the best way to do, we need to solve it first. Also, practice helps us to level up to reach our goal if we are not good at something.
