Plot: Girl wants her own room
The story “My very own room” talks about a young Mexican American girl. She felt crowded because the five kids had to share one whole room and wanted her own room. She was getting old enough to have her own space. Her whole family wanted to help her. They worked together, cleaned out the storage, painted the walls, measured things, put and bought things, and borrowed books from the nearby library. She felt special and happy about her room and sometimes invited members of her family to her room. She had what she wanted with the help of her dear family, and she couldn’t do anything without them.
Sometimes people need some distance from others to do something that they want to keep a secret, we don’t need to show everything to others, we need some private space and time. Privacy is the right to the self. Privacy is what gives you the ability to share with the world who you are on your own terms. In the story, the girl wanted some privacy for herself because she was getting old and needed space from younger siblings. She needed to keep things for herself. Protecting privacy is key to ensuring human dignity, safety and self-determination. It allows individuals to freely develop their own personality. So, people should have some privacy.
We can get love, gratitude, sharing, respect, being cared for, and support by our family. They are our hope for success, they are the ones that brought us to live, and they are the ones that will always be with us. Family is not an important thing to us. It's everything to us. And we are also everything to our families. In the story, The girl got all her love and help from her family. She made her dream come true by the strength of her family. The value of our families are higher than everything. They are like doves that carry us to the heaven of victory. Everyone in our household, either younger or older, is our bright light.
When we think we have tried all we can, or when we think we are hopeless, we must remember that there are more solutions than problems, and we can use our minds to find those answers. Creativity isn’t just using our minds to make art and drawings. Creativity could also mean using our minds to solve problems with thoughtful and creative solutions! One example in the story is that the family does not have money to buy a ruler to measure furniture, so they thought of a way to use the yarn they have as a ruler. Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else ever thought. People should use their heads and create.
This story tells us about three things: Privacy is what gives you the ability to share with the world who you are on your own terms, The memories we make with our family is everything, and A creative life is an amplified life. It's a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life. This story talks about a girl wanting her own personal space away from others. Her family is wanting to help her, and they made her dream come true. We can see that our family is very important.
