Story Review for My Very Own Room

Characters: Mijita, Mijita’s family

Setting: In a crowded house

Plot: A girl wants her own room and her creative family helped a lot.

The story "My Very Own Room" written by Amada Irma Pérez tells the story of Mijita, a young girl living with her large family in a small house. With a desire for privacy and a space to call her own, Mijita dreams of having her own room. Despite the limited resources, Mijita's determination and creativity shine as she finds ways to carve out her own space within the crowded house. She works hard to build her dream room with the help of her family. Using curtains and sheets, she transforms a corner into her very own room. Here are three morals that I learned from the story.

Privacy is something surely needed for a person to be grown up as an independent human. It's important for individuals to have control over their personal information and be able to make their own decisions about who has access to it. When Mijita receives her own room for the first time she describes how she can now have her own space to read, write, and play without being interrupted or disturbed by her siblings. It shows that having a space of your own can provide a sense of privacy and independence. It can allow individuals to pursue their interests and hobbies without being interrupted or disturbed by others. Mentally, we would be more relaxed and happy. Therefore, if somebody does have a place of his own we should remind him of the importance of privacy and being independent sometimes.

Family is the place where we love each other, appreciate others' help, and share knowledge with each other. Family is really significant because they help us, love us, and teach us things. They make us feel safe and happy. In the story, Mijita's family understands her and gives her a special room of her own. It shows that families should love and appreciate each other. When families share their love and knowledge, it makes everyone stronger. Family is like a cozy and supportive place where we can grow and be ourselves. Mijita's family's help and understanding show how much love and appreciation matter in a family. Family is more than just a shelter; it is where love, appreciation, and knowledge are shared, supporting individual dreams and fostering growth.

Creativity helps people to solve problems in a different way even without enough necessary resources. The power of creativity in problem-solving, especially when faced with limited resources. It emphasizes that thinking outside the box and finding innovative solutions can overcome challenges and create opportunities. Marisa's family faced the challenge of limited resources and a crowded house, making her dream seem unattainable. However, Marisa's family creative thinking shines through as he transforms a small storage room into a special and personalized space for her. By utilizing their limited means, they showcase the family's resourcefulness and ability to find innovative solutions. This heartwarming example demonstrates how creativity can turn constraints into opportunities and create a sense of belonging and joy within a family. Creativity triumphs over limitations, turning obstacles into opportunities for fulfilling dreams.

This is a very interesting story even though sometimes it is weird. There are three principal morals. Firstly, people can’t live long and healthily without any privacy and independence. Everybody should at least find a place that is only for him. Secondly, a family is much more than a shelter and friends. We can always depend on our family which will never quit us. Lastly, creativity is very necessary for people to solve problems especially when we have limited resources. All in all, I encourage children to adults to read this interesting story.
