Story Review for Freckle Juice

Plot: Andrews really wants freckles on his face.

The book Freckle Juice is written by Judy Blume, it talks about a boy called Andrew who he really likes freckles. At school, he sees a boy called Nicky who has many freckles. One day, he hears Sharon says she has a secret recipe for freckles. It costs five dimes so Andrew brought the recipe. When he is tasting what he makes, it is awful. Nothing happens after the drink. Andrew doesn’t want Sharon to see him with no freckles. He uses markers to make dots on his face. Miss Kelly sees it and she gives a soap to help Andrew to wash the dots off. Nicky doesn’t like the freckles so he gives the freckles to Andrew.

A good teacher needs to have a good temper. Because if they lose their temper, it will scare the students and it will not be good for them to like school. In the story, Ms Kelly doesn’t lose her temper, she uses a funny way to ask Andrew to wash off his face. The students don’t feel pressure from the teacher and they can focus back on their work. If we want to be a good teacher then you need to be patient and do not lose your temper easily.

Being special is good, because it makes you unique. Unique is good because it makes people admire you, want to be friends with you and copy you. In the story, Andrew admires Nicky, of his freckles. The more Andrew looks at Nicky’s face, the more he wants freckles. That causes Andrew to believe in Sharon and falls into her trap. Being special is good and maybe some people think you are important to them.

Don’t get people’s money by tricking them. Because it is like stealing in another way. And it will break people’s hearts if they find out. In the story, Sharon uses the freckle juice recipe to trick Andrew. When Andrew finds out he is very sad and angry. Tricking people for their money is not good and no one should do such a thing.

I like this book because there are three things I learned in this book. First, I learned that being special is being unique. Next, I learned that we need to have patience and good temper to be a good teacher. Last, I learned that stealing is not good and tricking people for their money is as bad as stealing. This book talks about many silly things and I really enjoy reading it. I will recommend this book to you.
