Save the Endangered Species

Some animals used to be a big part of the Earth’s ecosystem, but nowadays, the amount of those animals has shrinked. The truth is, these animals are endangered. Endangered is when a species of animal has mostly died out due to some reasons, mostly because of human activities. If you think about it, pigs, cows and sheeps will never be endangered, as humans like to eat them and will breed them for food. Dogs will never endanger as humans will breed them for pets. But what about animals that have no benefits for humans and live in forests where humans could have made big skyscrapers? For example, bugs and lizards? Humans are selfish sometimes, and don't think from the perspective of animals, which causes them to endanger.

Many human activities cause animals to endanger. But it's mostly urban sprawl today. In history, hunters had killed many animals for their rare skins. As time went on, humans had stopped hunting with laws that gave protections to animals. But due to the needs of homes, humans began to deforestation for space to build. Animals that live in the forest will lose their habitat, food source and water source. As a result, they can’t survive. Swamps and forests are yet the most threatened habitat, where many animals live.

Another part of animal endangerment activity is pollution. Humans dump millions tons of trash and waste into the sea every year. Those trash can either trap the creatures or get eaten by creatures. If it traps the creature, the creature cannot escape and will eventually die of hunger. If the trash gets eaten, it will poison the creature if it’s toxic or end up on our plate when we are eating the creature. Stuff like oil and toxicity are even more harmful as it can destroy habitats and kill animals, which is why countries are trying to clean our ocean.

To stop this situation, humans have come up with many ways, including making laws, using cleaner energy, stopping pollution and deforestation. Some factories are using electricity, water and the sun for cleaner energy. Countries are banning deforestation and making laws that protect certain endangered species. In America, people are bringing animals from other places to repair the ecosystem, like elks and gray wolves. One day, human mistakes would be repaid with the efforts.

Humans are selfish sometimes, however, many have realized their mistakes and are working towards restoring the ecosystem. But there is still a lot to do, with all the things we have done. You don’t have to be a ranger or zoologist, but use less plastic, paper. You can also persuade people around you to do this, and with all the people around you, you are making a difference and helping animals.
