The story Mr.Putter and Tabby Pour The Tea written by Cynthia Rylant talks about an old man named Mr.Putter who wants some company. Therefore, he goes to the pet store where only has fourteen kittens . The pet store lady tells him if wants a cat,he needs to go to the shelter.There,he sees an old yellow cat. The cat’s fur is thinning ,bones are creaked and it seems a little deaf. Mr.Putter has creaked bones, thinning hair and has deaf ear too! So, he takes the cat home and name her Tabby. After that ,they eat muffins and drink tea together. Mr.Putter tells Tabby the most wonderful stories. In summer, they lie under the sun. In fall, they walk through the trees. In winter, they turn the opera up very loud. They are so happy that they can’t remember their lives without each other.
From the story, I learned that best friends give each other best company. Best friends have something in common and share everything. In the story, Mr. Putter and Tabby are both old and sad. Besides, they share food and stories. it’s happy to have best friends’ company.
The story tells us that not only kittens can be company, cats are good too. Kittens are cute and peppy, while cats know more about you. Mr. Putter wants a cat because they are more alike. He hasn’t been cute and peppy for a very long time. Kittens and cats can both be good friends.
I learn from the story that everybody needs company. If they don’t have company, they will be sad, lonely, and even sick. Mr. Putter lives alone and he wants to share things with others. Because his wife dies long ago and he feels very lonely. Therefore, we need to make more friends.
In the story, Mr. Potter, the lonely old man, gets a cat, and they live happily together. Firstly, it’s good to have a best friend who can do many things with you. Secondly, kittens and cats can both help you, so they all can be your friends. At last, company is important for everybody.
