Review of Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Characters: Alexander, mom, Mrs. Gibson

Setting: School

Plot: Alexander thinks every day is terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day is written by Judith Viorst, it talks about Alexander is complaining all the time, he wishes move to Australia and things go changing, his mother tells him some days are like that, even in Australia, I really like this story because it teaches us some important themes.

Unhappiness cannot be avoided. We need to face unhappiness all the time, even when we are adults. For example, in this story Alexander’s mom needs to handle her children fighting, crying. She has to listen to what happens and help children to solve prombles.

Control our emotions when facing unhappiness. We have to learn to forget it and keep it peaceful. For example, in this story Alexander gets a pair of shoes which he doesn’t want, he is unhappy about that. Just accept what we get and find a better way to enjoy it. Do not let things ruin our day.

Learn the lessons so as to avoid the problems. We may avoid the problem when we do it the appropriate way. For example, in this story Alexander goes to sleep with gum in mouth, and gum in his hair when he gets out of bed in the morning. He can avoid this bad thing if he is not eating gum during sleep. A lot of unhappiness can be avoided if we follow the rules.

I like this story, it makes me know that complaining doesn't solve problems.Unhappiness cannot be avoided.Control our emotions when facing unhappiness.Learn the lessons so as to avoid the problems. Let us always remember to follow the rules to avoid the bad things, forget the unhappiness and enjoy everyday.
