Quest for the Chest

My name is Bob. I am looking for treasure. One day, I picked up a treasure map in a street. I believed the map was real, so I followed the map to a dank ship. The ship was old and dusty. There was a web hanging beneath the ceiling. I saw a small chest on the top of a big box. “It must be the treasure box!” I thought. So I grabbed the trunk and brushed off the dust with the back of my hand. Then I opened the box gently and looked inside, but all I saw was only junk! I was shocked and disappointed.

“ You lost?” I heard a deep voice ask behind me, so I turned back and saw a pirate with a red beard and a sword in my hand.

“Oh no! It’s Redbeard!”I thought. Redbeard was a notorious pirate. He robbed many ships before. He was murderous and tricky.

“You must be looking for this,” asked Redbeard, holding the treasure box with gold. “ I took the treasure first and replaced it with a fake one, then I drew a treasure map and put it in a street to see who is the lucky guy to find it.”

The box in Redbeard’s hand was the same as the box in my hand. But there was only one thing that was different: the front of the Redbeard’s chest had an “X” sign on it.

The cunning Redbeard tricked me! I must do something! He commanded me to leave the ship and pointed out his sword at me. “ Finally, I get you! It’s you the lucky guy! But the game is over now! You must leave the ship! The treasure is mine! Go! Go! Go!” Redbeard forced me to the plank. I changed the chest when he pushed me without paying attention. He didn’t notice the switch because he was so complacent that he had tricked me successfully. Well, I thicked him, too. I jumped into the ocean. I swam and swam until I was far from the ship.

“Good thing I made the switch!” I held the chest with the sign of “X”. It was the real treasure box full of gold! I was so joyful because I finally got the treasure.
