Endangered species are any species that is at risk of extinction (where a specific kind of animal is gone from the world). They often appear very rare and cause scientists to take care and observe them. Animals become endangered by the sudden decrease in population. Biodiverse regions that require protection on the grounds that they host a significant number of endangered species are called hot spots. Animals can be endangered for many reasons. Habitat loss is the primary cause of higher extinction rates. Other causes can be habitat or climate change, overhunting, the introduction of harmful nonnative species, pollution, and the spread of diseases. After all, we need to protect all the endangered animals, including the ones who are almost endangered.
Most of the time, animals who are becoming endangered are caused by humans. This is a very severe problem from before to now, present. We have been doing many extremely harmful things to animals. Some people are starting to be concerned about this, but most of us don’t care. We have been destroying habitats in many ways. We have been chopping down forests. We have been polluting waters. We have been also emitting carbon dioxide, which makes the world get hotter, makes the ice melt and let the sea level rise. When the sea level rises, the ground gets flooded. All of these are connected. Over-hunting is also a problem. Overhunting can cause some species’ population to plunge immediately. Humans have been hunting elephants for tusks, whales for oil, and many other animals for fur. We have to quickly be concerned about this urgent problem and take action.
If we don’t protect the animals, they will soon die out. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, some of us, humans, are taking action to help protect the endangered animals. But that is not enough people. Still, many of us just say but not do. Endangered species, if not protected, could eventually become extinct. Mentioned in the last paragraph, if an animal dies or the population decreases, the food chain that it's in will all get affected. There are many food chains with several animals. If we don’t take care, more animals will be damaged than we would think. The most important thing is, animals are also living organisms; they are alive. Everyone has the power to survive. If we don’t prevent them, they will quickly die.
If all the animals have died out, humans won’t survive. We humans need food to survive as humans need energy to power up our brain, muscles, and organs. There are many foods we can eat. For example, we can eat vegetables, fruits, and meat. All of these foods provide energy and other crucial things, but the one which provides the most energy is meat as it contains fat and protein. All the meat comes from animals. So if some of the animals died, our meat output would decrease and we would receive less meat, then energy. If all of the animals died, we would lose our main energy source. Animals are an essential source of energy. If they all died, humans would be affected.
In conclusion, endangered animals are animals which are low in population; they appear very rare. Scientists often observe and try to protect them. Humans are the main cause of endangered animals. If we don’t protect them, they will eventually die out. If they all died, it would be hard to survive. Fortunately, there are many ways to change this situation. We could rebuild habitats so that the animals will have a new home. We can reproduce more of them so the population will be high. We can also build national parks to create a home for animals. The problem would be solved if we work together.
