It is a sunny day. The girl called Lucy is playing hopscotch and jumping rope.She finds a note on the grass with a stone on it. Lucy wants to read the note but it is in code. She can not find the right way to read the note. So she feels very mad. Suddenly, she thinks her mom must know because kids think mom can solve almost all the problems in the world. So she rides her bike home down the slope quickly.
Mom gives her some chocolate cake and tells her,“For some codes you start at the end.” Lucy eats the yummy cake as she breaks the code. She reads it loudly，“Come home for a snack.” Oh, it is just a joke of her mom, however it makes Lucy feel funny and interesting!
Here I would like to introduce a code called Morse Code. It is a signal code that is on and off.It was invented by American Alfred Weir and Samuel in Morse in 1836. It relies on a series of dots and dashes to convey the information.The codes include five types-dot,dash,pause between the dot and the dash,pause between characters and pause between words. A telegraph operator can use a signal key to create dot,dash and pause to send important information. They have look up a code book to find the format of each word.
I also have my own secret code with my sister. Although we fight with each other sometimes, we help each other sometimes. For example, when mom goes out to the supermarket, she will leave us at home. Because my sister usually has a lot of homework to do and it is convenient for mom to go by herself. My sister usually stays in her room on the second floor while I usually play in my playroom of the basement. When she wants to watch some videos about food or making up, she will remind me to remember our secret code.
When mom arrives home, she enters the basement from our garage. It’s the time!
I will shout loudly, “Mama!” for two or three times. Mom thinks I’m calling her since I’m happy that she comes back finally. In fact, it is a secret code to tell my sister mom is home. Then she can stop the popular videos and begin to study. When mom goes upstairs, my sister studies very hard. Of course, my sister will help me when I need.
However, now we have to discuss another secret code!
