My Secret Code

Her name is Freeda and she is 6 years old. One day she was playing hopscotch and jumping rope outside. The sun shone and it was bright. Then, she froze with a confused face, because there was a note and a shiny stone on the grass. On the note was a code. She did not understand what it meant, so it drove her very mad because she could not understand what the code meant.  Freeda had one last hope; her mother could help her solve it! She hopped on her bike and started home down the smooth hill. When she got home, Mom told her to wash her hands and sit at the table. She gave Freeda some cake to calm down. Then, her Mom said,  “For some codes, read from the end to the beginning.” She ate the yummy cake as she broke the code, which said:”come home for a snack.” “It was all a joke all along!” laughed Mom. “Good Job, Freeda.” She gave her daughter a high five. How could she fall for a trick like that?

I once saw a code at a place called BrassTown Park, where there is a Chalktoberfest every year. It is a cold day, but Ethan and I still went because this year, since they had a new game called “Find blue B”.  I understood it was code because some paintings didn’t have any codes. There were more than 100 paintings on the road, but only 10 had codes inside. There some paintings had blue characters. We had to find them and write who drew them. Luckily Ethan and I finally found all of them and we got a wristband for reward. B

One of our codes is Grandpa’s cough. Mom doesn’t let Ethan and I watch TV too much. But sometimes we don’t listen; we like to sit on the couch and watch cartoons that we want. We always ask Grandpa to cough whenever Mom comes downstairs. But it does not always work, Grandpa is old and his ears can not hear very well, so Ethan and I have to figure out a new secret code for that.
