My Favorite Garden

In “The Secret Garden,” written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Mary Lennox was a disagreeable-looking girl, who was sent to her uncle, Mr. Craven’s strange house with a hundred rooms and gardens. One day, when Mary was walking through a path, she discovered a key and a locked door, so she used the key to open the door. She stepped into a secret garden with dead-looking flowers. A few days later, she met Dickon and told him all about the garden. Then, she met Colin, an ill boy, who was Mr. Craven’s son, and sat on a wheel chair to visit the garden. When Colin was in the garden, he didn’t feel ill anymore, so he got better. One day, Mr. Craven saw his son rush out the secret garden with Mary and Dickon, to hug his father who was so happy that his son was well.

If I had a garden, I would prefer African daisy, Astrantia, and Alstroemeria growing around the entrance of the garden. These colors are so magnificent; they dazzle in my eyes. Amaranthus hang the tall walls of the garden and roses climb up the walls, they would be a gorgeous decoration. Amaryllis and Anthuriums are the ballerinas dancing in the sunlight, so I will pick them for growing in the garden. When Anemones’ petals are blowing, they look like raindrops traveling on another path, which is a great feature in a day in the garden; it’s known as the wind flower. So many varieties of flowers, the garden must be a big, big, one!

Now we need some trees in the garden. The Ginkgo tree is known as the maidenhair tree, and has golden fan-shaped leaves. This tree makes the whole garden bright and lively. The Dove tree has white and green, heart-shaped leaves, which I would love to put in the garden. The Rhododendron tree has pink and purple flowers with pointed-oval shaped leaves. The tree is a beauty and perfect for the garden.

We need a finish touch, and everything will be perfect. The trees would be stored in a flower-bed made of bricks, which is surrounded by green bushes, with a path to the entrance where African Daisies, Astrantias, and Alstroemerias are growing. I tend to have Amaryllis and Anthuriums in hanging baskets. I would place Anemones in flower beds and rocks beside the Anemones. Now it’s a perfect and complete garden.

I think I forgot something, I need a key!! And it is buried deep in the earth, waiting for someone to find. It’s your turn to build your own imaginary garden!
