Lissy is a pretty girl living in the countryside. She always wears her hair in two bunches. When the sun comes up, Lissy tromps to the barn with a basket to get some eggs. On the way, she sees her cat, Jasper, licking her fluffy fur beside the barn. Lissy bends to get the eggs from the hens quickly before they peck her. “It’s getting hotter,” says Lissy, wiping the sweat with her hand, “ There is a lot I need to do. I must go faster!” Then she milks the cows and fills six jugs of milk. On her way out, she tips some of the milk for Jasper. Lissy pets her when she is drinking milk. Now she is standing for a bit of rest. What a fulfilling morning! Lissy likes life in the countryside.
I like living in the countryside, too. Firstly, the environment in the country is better than the city. There are not so many cars, people, and tall buildings in the countryside. It’s quiet, so I can sleep well. The air is fresh and clean instead of dirty dust. It’s good for our health.
Secondly, I can have a big garden in the countryside. I can grow flowers, vegetables and even have some animals. The vegetables grown by ourselves are more delicious and safe. It’s organic. Last but not least, I feel free and safe to live in the countryside. I can go to school by walking and by myself safely. I can play with my neighbor outside without the company of parent. In conclusion, I like to live in the countryside. It’s safe, free, and quiet.
