Let's Talk about Galileo Galilei

Galileo Galilei was an Italian astronomer, physicist, and engineer. Born in the city of Pisa on February 15th, 1564. Galileo studied speed, velocity, gravity, free fall, the principle of relativity, inertia, and projectile motion. He also worked in applied science and technology, describing the properties of the pendulum and “hydrostatic balances”. He was the inventor of an improved telescope, several military compasses. He was called the father of observational astronomy, modern-era classical physics, the scientific method, and modern science.

Galileo invented many inventions, but I think that three or them are important. One of them was the thermometer. Galileo constructed it using the expansion and contraction of air in a bulb to move water in an attached tube, it was used to measure the temperature of the air. The second one was the telescope. It was used to observe planets and stars and other things in space. This invention made great contributions to the study of the universe. The third thing was the pendulum clock. It was useful because it helped people know what the time was. This invention helped people keep time. So, these are three of Galileo’s inventions.

Out of all of Galileo’s inventions, I like the telescope best. The telescope helped people know more about space. Galileo used his telescope to observe space and found out that the sun, planets and stars did not revolve around Earth, but that the Earth and the other planets revolved around the sun. Galileo’s telescope helped people correct their earlier assumptions. If Galileo hadn’t made an improved version of the telescope, we wouldn’t know that the moon had craters, or that other planets had moons. So, Galileo’s telescope helped people know more about the universe and our galaxy.

After reading what inventions Galileo made, I want to make an invention or do something to help the world in the future. Seeing how the world is curious about the universe, I want to make a contribution that will help people further explore the universe. Currently spaceships and rockets are not good enough to carry people into deep space. Even if they could it would be a long time before it got to another galaxy. I will make a spaceship that is fast enough and strong enough to carry people to another galaxy. This spaceship might lead people to find another planet that is suitable for us to live on or maybe we can find aliens. So, this is what I want to make.

In conclusion, Galileo Galilei was an inventor who made many useful things, like the telescope, thermometer, and pendulum clock. These inventions helped people do things that they might not have dreamed of. I especially like the telescope, because it helped us know more about the universe. I also want to make something useful in the future. Since people are curious about space, I want to make a better spaceship that can carry us to another galaxy without using much time. Like Galileo’s telescope this spaceship can help us in the study of space.
