Let's Talk about Education

A school is an educational institution designed to provide learning spaces and learning environments for the teaching of students under the direction of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is sometimes compulsory. Schools are used to teach children what they would need to learn in order to survive. They teach children many subjects, and most schools around the world teach English. There are three types of schools, homeschool, private schools and public schools. I live in China, and its educational structure provides for six years of primary school, three years each of lower secondary school and upper secondary school, and four years in the standard university curriculum.

The two most similar out of three types of schools are public and private schools. They provide for children to go to a building where there are teachers teaching and managing the school, and friends and other children for them to learn and have fun with. Even though they are similar out of the three, they still have differences. For example, private schools have much fewer children than public schools. If there are twenty five children in public schools, there will be about only fifteen students in private schools. From these two, I prefer private schools where teachers will care more about each student, when I can still have many friends.

Homeschooling or home schooling, also known as home education or elective home education (EHE), is the education of school-aged children at home or a variety of places other than a school. Usually conducted by a parent, tutor, or an online teacher, many homeschool families use less formal, more personalized and individualized methods of learning that are not always found in schools. But still, having online lessons doesn’t mean that it is homeschooling. During the 2019 covid pandemic, most children around the world stayed home and had online lessons. They stayed home, but there were still a whole class of children in the imaginary classroom. Homeschooling may also be caused by special needs of deaf or blind children. Even though there will be no one to compete with us at home(if you’re a single child like me), teachers or parents will care only about ourselves and understand us.

From the three types of schools, I like private schools best. We can have many friends and have fun learning together, while the teacher cares for all of us, see us as individuals. We will always get chances to talk, and turn a quiet child into a child with personality, outgoing young fellow. Homeschooling, we will not learn to talk to others in the town or city but only learn from books. Speech is also a very important part of school, and homeschooling won’t help us learn about speech. Public schools, we won't always get chances to talk and answer questions. Also if most of the class are naughty, then the whole class will get punished, including the ones that are not naughty. That is why I think private schools are best.

School is a place where life gets its meaning and we develop mentally, physically and educationally every day. I think that schools should provide for children to learn sports, books, history, english, and fun. Children need to know what is important to learn to survive in this community. My mother thinks that schools should keep fairness to every student, no matter if they are rich or poor, no bullying, and compete in a good way that makes every student try out their best. Schools can help everyone in a different way, teaching their weaknesses and boosting their knowledge. Students can also change schools. As we give our own suggestions for different things in the school, schools will listen to the good suggestions, changing different objects and ways of thinking. Schools can also change us, from learning what is right to do to helping us learn history. School is a place full of love and friendship, hope and trust. It is where we grow up, and become older each year. It is also an important part of our lives.
