The story “Here’s my dollar” talks about a girl named Angel who heard that the local zoo has money problems and needs help. She came up with a plan. She wrote a letter to the Fresno Bee and donated one dollar. The next day a man came to her house and took a picture of her and posted it in the newspaper. When she went to school, her classmates also donated money to the zoo. She then made shirts, caps, and even went on TV. Volunteers even showed up at the zoo to paint and fix some damages and broken stuff in the zoo. And because of Angel, the zoo got what they needed and were happy.
We do not need something you do not have to do something kind for others, everyone is willing to help. From Angel’s story, we know that we don’t have to be rich, smart, or famous in order to do charity. In the story, Angel is not famous, or rich, or smart. She is willing to help the zoo even though she is just a normal and plain girl. She did something caring for the zoo. She helped the zoo earn money and spent her time and made the zoo better. To make a difference in someone's life you don't have to be brilliant, rich, beautiful, or perfect. You just have to care. Everyone could be kind and helpful to one another. It is a simple thing we can all do. So, People can be kind even though they aren’t perfect.
Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others. To compare my traits with Angel’s on this charity deed, I find it is difficult for me to do it. Angel is helpful and did something that changed the zoo and its future. In the story, Angel raised charity and made money for the zoo because she wanted to help the poor animals in the zoo. She used the kindness of her heart and spread it among others. Everybody can be great because everybody can serve. We all have deeds to learn from Angel. She is the person who deserves to have our love. She is kind and caring. She is the one we can trust. She is our hero. People should learn from her to do the same she did to help others.
Maybe someday, when we are all grown up, when our parents are old, the future might provide something that could help us with money problems and charity, or even more! The future would probably be technology and science, and we should always find solutions to problems. And as always, there are more solutions than problems. In the story, Angel donated one dollar and raised charity to help the zoo. And it took a lot of time until it worked out. If at the present day angel is raising charity, what will raising charity be like for Angel in the future? Will it be faster? Will it be much easier? Maybe there are more ways in modern society with the development of science. The future may provide something good for us.
This story tells us three things: From Angel’s story, we know that we don’t have to be rich, smart, or famous in order to do charity, to compare my traits with Angel’s on this charity deed, I find it is difficult for me to do it, and maybe there are more ways in modern society with the development of science. Angel is a girl who everyone thinks is plain and normal, but we shouldn’t underestimate angels. She is a hero for all of the animals in the zoo. She is a girl who we appreciate. She is a woman who will grow successful in life, she is Angel.
