Chaparral ecosystem is a shrubland plant community and geographical feature found primarily in the U.S. state of California, in southern Oregon, and in the northern portion of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico. It is shaped by a Mediterranean climate and infrequent, high-intensity crown fires. Actually, wildfires are just part of the chaparral itself. They can keep control of plants, help the habitats to be better for animals, and also help reproduce. That is why I think wildfires are good.
First, wildfires keep plant growth under control. When there are too much grass or plants and a wildfire is there, it can keep On wildlands, low- and moderate-intensity ground fires actually help forests by rejuvenating understory growth. The fires keep the forest ground clean, and not with too much things and mess. There might be a little bit of soil and earth, but there are too many plants that count on it to survive. So, wildfires burn the unneeded plants, and helps control the plants and their growth.
Second, some plants actually need heat to help reproduce their young plants. High temperatures affect plant growth in numerous ways. The most obvious are the effects of heat on photosynthesis, in which plants use carbon dioxide to produce oxygen, and respiration, an opposite process in which plants use oxygen to produce carbon dioxide. Then, plants can breathe and produce. Fire can burn, but it can also help plants reproduce. We learn that fire is important for plants to grow up big and tall.
Third, wildfires itself is the best way to stop more wildfires coming. In America and China, there was a time when absolutely no fires, not even a small fire, could be allowed there. The two countries thought it was a good way of stopping fires, but it is not true. If there is no fire to burn leaves and twigs, there will be more, and more things to help more fires come and burn a huge wildfire. There will be more fire than before, and more people might get hurt, and also there are too many leaves and twigs to stop the fire.
Wildfires may be dangerous, but they can also be good. They can keep plant growth under control, and that helps to not let too many plants get too tired and die. Fifty dying is better than a hundred! They can also use heat to help reproduce young plants. The plants can grow quicker under heat, and fires make much more heat. Third, wildfires are the best way to help not get more wildfires. That is why learning about wildfires helps us help plants, and look on different sides of the wildfires, good and bad.
