Is Ike a Good Dog?

BasicElements:

Characters: Ike, and Mrs. Larue

Setting Time: 1953, september 30

Setting Place: Snort city

Plot: Local dog enters obedience school

Perspective: 3rd person

Genre: Fantasy

The story “Dear Mrs. Larue. Letters from Obedience School” talks about a dog named Ike and his owner Mrs. Larue. Ike has many issues: he has eaten pie when he should not have, chased the Hibbin’s cats, howled at night to annoy the neighbors, and ripped an expensive Camel Coat. That is why he is sent to the Igor Brotweiler obedience school. In the story Ike has sent messages to his owner Mrs. Larue, about how awful it is, and he should be sent back home. But Ike is not sent back home, he complains, and he even thinks he is ill, but he is not, and just has hypochondriac. As Ike went along he kept on thinking of new stuff, like running away, and hoping to make it home. Ike eventually thinks about it, and he runs away, fleeing without looking back, he is in trains, and bad deserts. He thinks of places where he has enough food to eat, and refreshing air without think of breaks rules again and again.

Ike should have known not to eat the pie that Mrs. Larue was saving for dinner, we know this for multiple reasons. One of these reasons are, that Mrs. Larue and Ike have been together for a long time, so they must know each other’s thoughts. Ike must also have permission for these things, like if you were a business worker, and needed to leave early for something, you would not just walk out, but ask your boss if you could leave, this is asking for his or her permission to leave. This scenario is just like Ike's; he did not ask for permission to eat the pie so he is in trouble for not asking permission. Ike was in big trouble, for not asking permission to eat the pie, and knowing he should not eat the pie, from his past time with Mrs. Larue.

Ike is also at fault for chasing the Hibbin’s cats, he had made the excuse that they are being melodramatic but they are not. The cats are not born melodramatic but are made to be melodramatic, Ike has scared them by chasing them, making them scared. Imagine this, you are a cat, perched on the floor comfortably, but suddenly a dog comes at you barking vigorously at you. Won’t you be scared of it? Ike also is not the owner of these cats, so why does he bother bothering them, he could have just told the owners and left. But instead he just kept on trying, making the cats to be more melodramatic, and might even have a higher rate of dying. The cats Ike is bothering are none of his business, and he should just leave them alone because he is making them more melodramatic.

Ike has made excuses for howling at night, like he didn’t howl that loud, or they have annoyed him too, although these are true, he is still guilty for howling. Ike is guilty because he could be lying to Mrs. Larue, although Mrs. Larue wasn’t there, Ike could use that as an advantage, and lie to her. But as he also mentioned they had annoyed him too, so this could be his revenge for annoying him, so if they annoy him, then he annoys them. Ike said they were vacuuming their house, this is not for fun, but it is for their life, cleaning is human nature, also we could not live without cleaning, but you can live without howling. Although Ike is reasonable, he could just be lying so he does not get in big trouble, this could just be a big excuse.

Ike could have bitten a different thing than the coat, to say to Mrs. Larue, watch out there is a car, or remember to look on both sides, he does not have to bite the coat, showing he is biting it on purpose. Ike could have just bitten her purse or bag, not her expensive favorite camel coat that she wears most of her time. Ike has also been with her long enough to see that Mrs. Larue’s favorite coat was the Camel coat, and that he should not bite on that. Ike also had not ripped the coat if he had not gone so vigorously to the coat, and instead went a little bit swiftly more. Ike has ripped Mrs. Larue’s coat on purpose, because for his own reasons, but we knew this from the information above.

Dear Mrs. Larue is a book for debate, because Ike has done many things wrong, so you can have a court case on him to see if he is guilty or not. The book talks about a dog, getting sent to an obedience school, and he runs away from the school, after his owner won’t pick him up. Soon he comes back home and becomes a hero to his owner. As you know Ike had done many things wrong, like eating a pie when he is not supposed to, chasing cats, howling at night, and ripping a camel coat on purpose. He makes excuses for them, trying to get out but the owner would still not let in, because what Ike did was wrong, and he is guilty for every one. Ike has done many things wrong, and just tries to cover it up, but he cannot, and we have got him to be guilty, for the things he had done wrong.
