Is Captain Sully a Hero?

“Mayday!” is the word Captain Sully used to contact air traffic control when his plane crashed into the Hudson River. So what really happened on that remarkable day? Captain Sully plane, the US Airways Flight 1549, was in full flight and ascending when it flew into a flock of Canada geese. Both engines lost control, and the plane began to descend toward the Hudson River. Captain Sully, the captain and pilot aboard the plane had to make the correct split-second decision: Aim for a close airport in New Jersey, or try and do a water landing in the Hudson River. Luckily to 155 passengers and 5 crew members, he made the correct choice: To try for a water landing in the Hudson River. Captain Sully, with experienced training, navigated the plane and landed it beautifully on the river. He saved everyone’s life by making a decision. From January 15, 2009 to today, Suly is still remembered as a national hero.

A notable hero can be one that saved everyone's life in a time of crisis.Sure, everybody’s a hero, but are you the hero that actually did something notable? Captain Sully was actually a hero for something very important and remarkable. He saved everyone’s life!. Aboard the plane were 155 passengers and 5 crew members, and most of them probably had families they cared for. By making the correct decision, he managed to save 160 lives. When he chose to ditch the plane in the Hudson River, he was on a path that would soon save lives and make him an instant celebrity. He was calm and steady through the entire emergency, and didn’t lose his head. With his correct and quick decision, he put 160 soles in the track for safety. Many people claim they're heroes but some of their reasons are just rubbish. Meanwhile, others are actually worthy. A hero always has a reason for their claim.

If you have enough skills, use them! Don’t put them to waste. If you are at least pretty sure you are capable of doing something, just find confidence and do it, as long as it is the right thing to do. Captain Sully used his skills and experiences to land the plane on the Hudson. With his aviation skills and experience, he could estimate that he would not have made it to the airport in New Jersey. If he had chosen that path, he might have had to crash the plane somewhere else. He had a strength with planes, as he had dealt with them before, and used his experiences and knowledge to his advantage. He was not at all shy to use what he knew, and gave the best shot and what he could do, instead of slinking away. Being confident when you have the skill is great, just don’t get confident when you don’t have the skill. If you have a skill and don’t use it, next time, don’t bother mastering it.

Managing to give somebody a better sense of life is truly remarkable. If you are able to change somebody’s perspective of what's important, you’ve made an influence on them. After Captain Sully made an impact on people's life when he landed the plane successfully. When he saved lives doing so, the passengers realized how much more there is to life. Tripp Harris reported at a reunion that the trauma made him a better father, a better husband, for he was grateful for the fact that he even survived. He lived to love his wife and son for at least one more day. For Pam Seagle, she realized how important family was, and it inspired her to spend more time with family, and even get back with a sister she had fallen out with. This accident gave Sheila Dale a lot more gratitude for life and a chance to see 3 grandsons she would have never seen. More gratitude for something is always better than none. Gratitude toward life and a fresh perspective is sometimes all we need.

Captain Sully was truly a hero of the accident on the Hudson River. He saved everybody’s life, using his own aviation and navigating skills to skillfully land his plane on the Hudson River. He put everyone’s life on the balance, but made a quick and correct decision that helped him save people’s lives. He was calm, steady, and smart, using his knowledge to his advantage in the correct time of need. He was alert and responsive, and stayed calm instead of completely losing his head. After this accident, passengers reported that the accident was still fresh in their memory. It brought people more gratitude for life, and encouraged them to spend more time with loved ones, including ones they had fallen out with. Captain Sully was truly a hero by saving everyone’s life and bringing new prospects for everyone.
