In the book The Hundred Dresses, written by Eleanor Estes, there was a girl named Wanda Petronski who was bullied by two popular girls Maddie and Peggy, because Wanda says she has a hundred dresses but they don’t believe her. They also thought her name was funny. Wnada didn’t come to school for several days. One day, there was an art contest and Wanda won since she drew a hundred dresses and the girls found out the truth of the hundred dresses. Shortly after the contest, a letter from Wanda’s father said she was moving to the city. The girls wanted to say sorry to Wanda, but they were too late so they wrote a letter to her and Wanda wrote back.
A bully is someone who does mean or rude things to other people over and over again. Bullies are bad because they hurt people with bad intentions. In this story, Peggy and Maddie bullied Wanda by teasing her, asking her how many dresses she has so she could laugh at Wanda. Bullies can be everywhere like on the phone, in your neighborhood and school and can be all ages. Bullies are very rude and mean.
We need to be aware of bully behaviors. Because bully behaviors happen more often than we thought, and sometimes it is not easily recognizable. We've seen movies and books with bullies in it, for example, a wrinkle in time, turning red and many more. When we encounter a bully, we should do anything to stop the bullies. Bullies can be tough so it is very important to make people aware of them.
Bullies are everywhere so we should learn how to deal with them. We can make no bullying signs, posters or marches that help stop bullying and we can protect people who are being bullied by telling the bully to stop. Other ways to avoid bullies in our society are we could have discussions about bullies, help one another when we are bullied or we could write about how bullying is causing trouble. We should make creative ideas to help prevent bullying or just try to help stop bullying when we see someone being bullied. Even though bullies are everywhere we can stop them.
No one likes to be bullied. Bullies can be found everywhere and they are rude and mean. We should avoid them by ignoring them, telling the bully to stop, don’t listen to the bully, standing up for ourselves or we could stay in a group. If we see others being bullied, we should help them, by having discussions or making posters to help prevent bullying .
