Bats don’t see the way we do, but they use their ears to see. Echolocation, a skill that many animals use to survive in their conditions. The oilbird is an animal that lives in South America, and mainly feeds on oil palms. It uses echolocation but only for navigation. The dolphin is another example of echolocation, and it is used to talk to other dolphins. The sea cow, which is now extinct, also used echolocation. The bat is also a specific example of how echolocation works. They use sound waves to hunt and have food. Killer whales use clicks to talk to other animals and also hunt for food. It’s similar to how the dolphin clicks to talk. There are many animals that use echolocation, but it still have some things that it cannot do.
If I could have echolocation or eyesight, I would still choose eyesight because then I could see the people I love, when having echolocation I cannot do so. I love my family, and I love to see them everyday with my eyes. But with echolocation, I cannot see them but the shape that they are in. No color at all, and I cannot even say if my parents’ clothes are nice. But having eyesight I can see my family well and well. Echolocation only allows me to know the shape and the location of something or somebody. Eyesight allows me to love and see the color of my whole family, and also I can make eye contact. Vision helps me know how my family or friends look, and we can express ourselves without using words. Echolocation does not allow me to know other people from the outside and how they look, but only their accurate location, actions, size and shape. Without vision, I can never know what loving ones look like.
Vision can help me out with enjoyment or thoughts, whether echolocation cannot. The world will always be darkness to me, and I can never see light without eyesight. I can find what is hazardous for me, but I will never see if the thing I am looking at is appetizing, but can only observe its shape, location, movement, and size with echolocation. Using sight can give me color, and I will know which one I like and which one I don’t. Color brings pleasure and displeasure, and I will also have thoughts on them. Only then I can choose a favorite and have my comments on things I see. Echolocation cannot show surroundings or backgrounds, so I cannot observe the ones that I like and the ones that I don’t. Eyesight allows me to see more, and have feelings and emotions about my surroundings. Eyesight can bring pleasure, happiness and emotions to the world, when echolocation can only show size, movement, and shape.
Echolocation helps me see the shape and size of something, but I cannot see arts and nature. Echolocation cannot view art, and we will miss the real pretty things in animals, plants, and the environment. Only vision can express the color and looks of the outside world. Echolocation can only see shape, but eyesight permits us to look at nature with color and emotion, thoughts along with loveliness. We cannot choose our own ideas or opinions, as we never see what is actually real, the actual color we don’t know which we like best. The world is a thing we should enjoy, but echolocation cannot express it. Arts like dancing, paintings, drama and television cannot be seen by echolocation, but only sight can. Only vision can permit us to see beautiful arts and nature.
Echolocation is a survival tool for many animals, and it helps them in many ways. However, I would still like to keep my vision rather than change to echolocation. Firstly, I can see my loved ones well with vision, but with echolocation I can only identify the shape and size of my family and friends. Without sight I cannot see my lovesome friends, but with vision I can not only see them but also use eye contact to understand each other better without talking. Also, echolocation cannot see color, which makes it hard to have a favorite, when we haven’t even seen what color it is. Eyesight can help us see beautiful arts and things of nature, but echolocation can’t do that. Echolocation is useful device for many animals, but vision is like a window that opens the door to the world.
