The story "The Whipping Boy" was written by Sid Fleischman. It talked about Prince Brat who played a trickful joke and caused the whipping boy to get punished. That night, the whipping boy ran away with the prince. They met highwaymen who captured the boys. Jemmy, the whipping boy, found an opportunity to escape. Jemmy and Brat escaped and tried to find food since they were far away from the castle. Then they met the highwaymen again on the road and then, a bear came out of nowhere. The highwaymen ran or swine away. The bear was Betsy's and she took her bear home. The boys found their way to the castle with the help of a nearby city.
I would have always cared about the whipping boy all the time if I had a whipping boy. If I had a whipping boy, I might have done wrong things. If the whipping person was whipped, it might have harmed them. It would have been my fault that he was harmed, so I would have been responsible for it. I would have cured the whipping boy if they were bleeding or others. I would have also taken care of the person if they were sick, even if it was not caused by the whipping part. The whipping boy would have been treated as a family member. Taking care of the whipping boy would have been as important as him not getting whipped. Nourishing the whipping boy like how we do our family would have been the right thing to do.
The whipping boy would have been whipped because of me, so I would have tried not to do wrong things. When I did something wrong, the boy would have been whipped, so I may have felt sorry or pity for the whipping boy, and I would have tried my best not to make any mistakes so the poor whipping boy wouldn't get whipped. The whipping boy had feelings, and if the whipping boy was always whipped, then he would have been angry and sad because of me. If I did nothing wrong, then the whipping boy would not have been punished, and he wouldn't have been angry about me. Anyway, making mistakes was not the right thing to do, so I should have tried not to make any mistakes even if there was no whipping boy.
If we had the rights to be in freedom, the whipping boy would have had it too. We would have been very special if we had a whipping boy. Well, why wasn't it that we were the special one, not the whipping boy? Because of this, whipping boys would have had the right to be in freedom like us. There were tons of people out there, why couldn't they have been the whipping boy instead? They suffered a lot, and they were also being kept somewhere that was definitely not freedom. If the whipping boy was out there free instead of being locked up, they wouldn't have suffered that much. There was no reason the whipping boy was the whipping boy instead of someone else. If whipping boys were out there in freedom, then there would have been much more joy.
Having a whipping boy was a big deal. If we had a whipping boy, we needed to take care of him, we needed food, and more. If we did wrong things, the whipping boys would be whipped, which was not fair that we did the wrong thing and we were not the ones getting punished. We would pity the whipping boy and try not to make a mistake. There was no proof or researched evidence that whipping boys should be treated badly and being kept in a cage. Whipping boys were human so they should be in freedom too. Instead of the whipping boy getting whipped they should be in freedom like us. Whipping boys were human and they could feel the pain like us.
