The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hype is a gothic literature written by Robert Louis Stevenson about a lawyer who solves a case that is really strange because Jekyll and Hyde are the same person. The lawyer, Mr. Utterson, was attempting to solve a mystery involving Mr. Hype. Dr. Jekyll is Mr. Hype and Mr. Utterson's "common friend." In contrast to Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hype is cruel, he beats Sir Danvers Carew, and he is evil, Dr. Jekyll is friendly and rich. During the book, Dr. Lanyon, a friend of Dr. Jekyll, died of shock after discovering that Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are the same person. Before, Dr. Jekyll wanted to be evil, but later he wanted to be good, then it was too late, he couldn't turn back to Dr. Jekyll; he committed suicide.

Gothic literature takes its name from the pointed roof of a building in Europe. Some examples of Gothic literature are The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hype written by Robert Louis Stevenson, Dracula written by Bram Stoker, Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley, Christmas Carol… etc. Gothic literature takes place in an atmosphere of mystery and suspense, and it is mainly something of horror. Gothic fiction has an aesthetic that is related to terror and haunting, and it contains the elements of horror and mystery.
People can be multi-personality, they might be one person on occasions and another personality on other occasions. Multi-personality individuals can sometimes act one way on occasion and act another way on other occasions. Dr. Jekyll is friendly, talented, handsome, rich and he is a good person unlike Mr. Hyde, Mr Hyde is rude, cruel, evil, poor and ugly. People might have different personalities, they might be nice on the outside but they want to be bad. Although it's easy to be evil, cruel and bad, it is not simple to be good and friendly. Some people can have more than one personality, they might be one person sometimes and another personality at other times.
Self control plays an important role in attitude in our life. People might not be able to control themself, they might do something that they didn’t want to do because they can’t control their body. Dr. Jekyll couldn’t control his bad side so there was no more cure afterwards, he ran out of supplies as well. It was easy for Dr. Jekyll to become Mr. Hyde, but when he couldn’t control himself anymore he stayed as Mr. Hyde. Perhaps people may not be able to control themselves and may do things that they don't want to do because of their inability to control their bodies. If someone is not able to control their body, when they do something they didn’t want to do they wouldn’t realize it. Self control and self awareness are both really important in all of our life; it is a skill we all have to master.
