Compare and Contrast of Southpaw and Concha

These both stories have similarities and differences. Like, Concha’s characters are kids and Southpaw characters are kids as well. And they both have a fight at the beginning, but at the end, eventually they get through it. But, they fight about different things like for Southpaw, Richard thinks that girls cannot play baseball and Janet disagrees. She thinks that girls and boys can play baseball. This is called gender discrimination, and for Concha, there are sides and the reason is that one side thinks that Concha is a lovely girl and another side thinks that concha is really stupid.

These both stories are all similar but some features are different. Like the genre is different, the amount of people involved in conflicts and the cause of argument. Like in Concha, the genre is memoir in which someone is narrating the story and there are a group of kids fighting and they are taking sides plus the cause of the argument is insulting and bullying. For Southpaw, the genre has no narration and there are only two kids fighting and the cause of the argument is about gender discrimination. These stories are similar but they have different reasons and features as well. Differences are what makes two stories or more stories interesting.

These stories have some different features but they also have similar features. For the characters there are both kids as characters and they have a conflict at the beginning and they solve it finally at the end (happy ending ) and the attitude of characters. For example Concha, the characters are kids and they have like bullying and teasing because Concha was timid in school so people often teased her and at the beginning, Virgie and Beto was on Mundo’s side but at the end Virgie and Beto changed their minds and went to Concha’s side. For Southpaw, the characters are kids also, and they are fighting about gender discrimination and Richard changes his mind about girls towards the end. Similarities make us think about both of these stories more. Similarities can change our thinking on stories.

Not only can a story be different from one way, they can also be similar and different from each other (Compare and Contrast). Like not only the plot can be different, it can be the characters, the genre and so on. Like in both of these stories, they have different reasons for why they are fighting. Because for concha it is bullying and teasing because Concha is very timid and quiet in school and people make fun of her because of that and for Southpaw, they are fighting about gender discrimination. They have a problem or a conflict at the beginning but towards the end they slowly solve it. If two or more stories are similar in the same way and different in the same way and reason, it won’t be as exciting anymore. Compare and contrast is a big use in multiple stories.

In conclusion, now we know that these both stories are all similar but some features are different, these stories have some different features but they also have similar features and not only can a story be different from one way, they can also be similar and different from each other (Compare and Contrast). If all the stories are all the same reason, characters, conflict and plot, it will not be interesting anymore. Stories can also have similarities because if we want to compare them, it will help a lot. Stories can have different or similar features in anyway like maybe it is the plot or maybe it is the characters.
