James was a happy boy that lives with his mom and dad. One day, his mom and dad were eaten by a rhino that escaped from the London Zoo. It was a horrible thing that happened to James and another horrible thing for him is that he has to live with his aunts. The two aunts were really mean to him. One day James was treated badly then he hid behind the bushes and saw an old man. The old man gave him a magical bean. Magic happened afterward. The peach on the old peach tree started growing and it became enormous. James accidently fell into the core of the peach and met with the insects who were Miss Spider, Grasshopper, Centipede, Ladybug and Earthworm. They had an adventurous and dangerous journey on a flying peach and eventually landed on the Empire State Building. Everyone in the peach got a job in New York City.
In the story I have learned that friendship is like a magnet that attracts different living things, even insects and humans. Because people want to be friends with the person that thinks the same, not the person that looks the same. In the story, James made friends with the insects even when James saw them the first time, he was scared by their looks. They helped each other throughout the whole journey, and they became lifelong friends. We make friends by their thinking not by their appearance.
We need to be brave so we will have more chances to meet new people and have more excitement in life. Because if we have more friends then maybe good things will happen. Like maybe more friends will come to your party and you will have more presents to unwrap. In the story, James was brave and made friends with the enormous insects and had an exciting adventure. James flew across the ocean with his new friends from England to New York City on a flying peach. Being courageous can make more exciting things happen.
Good communication can save lives. Because during an emergency, people need to communicate to save their lives. In the story, James told the insects what to do or where to go. James rescued Centipede by communicating well with Spider and told him to make more silk so James could jump down along the silk to rescue Centipede. Good communication is a life-saving skill and it is important to people’s lives.
I present to you a very exciting adventure book called James and the GIant Peach. And I have learned three things in this book. First, I learned we can make friends with anyone we want. NextI learned that we need to be brave and be courageous in life. Lastly, I learned that communication during an emergency is essential. Please read this book, I promise this book will be good.
