Gnere: Fiction

The story <The Whipping Boy> written by Sid Fleischman talks about a prince who is bored and misbehaves constantly, and his whipping boy, who is always punished in his place. One day, they both run away and get kidnapped by two dangerous men. They must work together to escape and return to the kingdom. Along the way, they learn important lessons about friendship, loyalty, and the consequences of their actions. Finally, they make it back home and the prince promises to never mistreat his whipping boy again.

Mistakes are the foundation of success, we have to find what and why we got wrong after a mistake. Only if we know what we got wrong, and make a difference, then we can change it for good next time. In the story, the prince didn’t even care that he did wrong so he would have many problems the next time. In real life, finding our own problems is a very good way to get good grades, good working projects and more. So don’t be afraid of mistakes, as long as we have a good solution, we can make things better.

Friendship comes from everywhere but they are like a building, only a strong friendship can keep this building from being destroyed by trouble. Friendship makes our lives happier than what we already had. In the story, the author portrays the blossoming friendship between Prince Brat and Jemmy, the whipping boy. Despite their initial differences, the two boys learn to appreciate each other's strengths and weaknesses, and work together to escape danger. In real life, the power of friendship is unimaginable. When we are in trouble, true friendship can help us resolve the crisis. Friendships need to be worked on..

Responsibility is not just within adults, children also have their responsibility. Children's responsibility is studying, knowing skills we need when we grow up. Adults’ are studying, working, taking care of children and more. In the story, Jemmy initially tries to shirk responsibility and blame others for his mistakes, but eventually, he learns to own up to his faults and make amends for them. In real life, responsibility is even all what adults do for almost all day. Sometimes, their responsibility gives the world a peaceful existence. Responsibility can make the world more and more better.

In conclusion, this story talks about a prince and his whipping boy who ran out of the castle and got caught and at last got back.. I learn so much from this story. Firstly, after we make a mistake, we must find the reason for it and correct it. Secondly, friendship is as important even as family love. Last but not the least, Responsibility is not just within adults, children also have their responsibility. Fiction stories give us happiness or sadness and open up our imagination with wonderful stories in it. I highly recommend this story to you, and I hope you would like it.
