Book Review of The Reluctant Dragon

This story is written by Kenneth Grahame. This story is about a boy, a saint and a dragon. At first the boy finds the dragon and they become friends. The boy’s parent also support him when the boy make friends with the dragon. But when the villagers know about the dragon they called St. George to help them get rid of the dragon. Under the hardwork of the boy , the Saint decides to help the boy. In the end the villagers feel less stressed and the boy still feel very happy.

We should look at things from a developmental perspective. We should not use our experience to look at things. In the story all the villagers think that dragons are not a good creature. We should not look at things from our experience or what we heard about it before. We should observe something for sometime in order to decide how to deal with that thing.

We should always trust our family. We can trust no one in the world except our family because family is our strong support. In the story the boy’s parent trust the boy. If the think the boy is being deliberately provocative then they wouldn’t even let the boy go find the Saint and the dragon would be dead. If our family don’t trust our support us then we can’t do what we want. Family’s support is what we need when we what to do something.

We should look at one thing from different perspectives. When we only stand in one person’s view of point then we will might made a wrong decision. In the story the saint learned about the dragon from different perspectives. In the end he made a right decision that made both the villagers and the boy happy. When we look at one thing from a different perspective we might have a good result. When we stand in different perspectives then we might be able to understand one thing more clearly and chose the right decision.

When we meet a problem we can search help from our family because we can trust our family. When we are choosing which solution, our family gave us, to use then we need to stand in our different family members’ perspectives to choose the best solution. But when we meet a similar problem we still need to examine that problem first in order to know how to solve it.
