The Reluctant Dragon, written by Kenneth Grahame is about except the little boy, everyone assumes that dragons are bad guys who specialize in sabotage, and that fire always burns down villagers' houses, assuming that both dragons and knights enjoy duels. But this fire-breathing dragon doesn't like sabotage at all, let alone fighting. In order to make everyone willing to accept this dragon, the knight and the little boy came up with a good idea, pretended to fight, and then told everyone that the dragon had learned a lesson and would learn to behave well in the future. Finally, the lovely flame throwing dragon also ate delicious cakes as expected and joined the villagers' collective activities.
We should not always judge people based on the things we heard from others. Common sense is not always the correct version because you don’t know this “common sense” is perfectly fit in real life. Many people always view things with their own eyes and are ignorant. The villagers' believed all the dragons are harmful and like to destroy houses but it’s not true. Aloughth this point of view is common and is familiar to most people, it’s not always true. We must adopt rational and using facts during thinking, not just do what we want to do. Common sense is the thinking of most people, but it’s just the popular thinking, instead of the facts that support the idea.
Using appropriate and rational methods can make your process smoother. Sometimes, we use a lot of energy thinking about things in an incorrect way which is a way of wasting effort. The knight and the little boy perform a show who pretended to fight. This idea will not let the dragon heart and will let everyone accept this dragon and let him join the villagers' collective. This strategy can let you gain the shortest time to do the most efficient things. So, the best way is to think what's the best way to solve the problem first and do it after thinking. Compared with just doing it, you will use less energy and time to do the best things.
No matter how much others disagree with your opinion, if you believe in yourself, no one can change your opinion. Only by adhering to the correct viewpoint can we correct the wrong viewpoint. All the villagers' believed all dragon is harmful but the little boy stick to his point of view. Aloughth all villagers' disagree with him, he didn’t change his opinion. These villagers' might gave pressure to the little boy but he held on. Since it is an opinion, it is not a joke. It is the result of personal experience and wisdom. Everyone has opinions and will adhere to them, but they will correct their opinions when they find deviations.
