The story The Cricket in Times Square, written by George Selden, talks about a cricket who accidentally went to New York and met some friends. Mario Bellini was a boy who lived in Times Square, he had just found a cricket and decided to keep it as his pet. Though his mother disapproved of it, she accepted it. The cricket named Chester, met two new friends, Harry Cat and Tucker Mouse. Chester learned to sing, and soon, thousands of people crowded around to listen to the wonderful music. The family earned money this way. And Mama Bellini changed her mind, and she loved Chester very much. But Chester wasn’t happy; he loved to sing because it brought him joy, not because it was his job, he wasn’t used to singing so often and was so tired that he decided to leave. He said goodbye to his two friends and left.

Friendship can form no matter who that person is or where that person comes from; the only important thing is that they can be friends, it’s beyond social class or even species. True friendship is not defined by background or species—a person can even be best friends with a dog. In The Whipping Boy, Jemmy is a rat catcher, while Prince Brat is a rich prince, yet they become best friends in the end. In the story, Tucker Mouse and Harry Cat are best friends, and Mario and Chester are best pals. Mice and cats are natural enemies, but like in the story, Wolf Wolf, sometimes, it’s the opposite of common sense. The wolf and the goat made friends even though wolves are supposed to eat goats. Tucker and Harry don’t care about their differences; instead of being enemies, they choose to make peace. Mario and Chester are the same, a person and a cricket don’t make good pairs, but they don’t care, and love, trust, and care for each other. Friendship isn’t about what a person is or where the person lives; it’s about trust, care, and support. It’s beyond any species.

Home is where the heart is and the family belongs. When people travel, they stay in buildings at night, but it’s not truly their home. In those places, no one truly loves or cares for them, but in their real home, they are surrounded by love, care, and support. Not all places fit a person; when a person travels to a place, he might be longing to be in another place he loves, where his heart lies, and then his home is there. A house is just a building, like a box, protecting him, but a home where he loves, where he lives, where he has friends. In the story, Chester wants to go home. His friends, Harry and Tucker, love the city and bustling people, but Chester prefers the quiet, peaceful place of Connecticut. Although his friends are in the city, his heart belongs to his family, and his true home is with them. Feeling safe and being at home is more important.

Understanding and accepting means putting oneself in other people’s shoes and embracing their behavior instead of trying to change it, as that would only make the situation more complicated. Understanding means seeing things from different perspectives and understanding others’ feelings and actions. Acceptance means embracing their emotions and behaviors and supporting them. Both require empathy, support, and care. In the story, Harry and Tucker accept and understand Chester. Despite Chester’s small size, Tucker and Harry welcome him without hesitation. They feel empathetic for Chester, away from home, in a bustling, strange place. They want to help, but instead of trying to change Chester's dislike for the city, they accept it and support him to the end, which forms a good friendship. Though they were startled that Chester was leaving, they accepted that this wasn’t the place for him. They understand him, they know he is yearning to go home, so they do their best to show that they understand and won’t stop him.  Acceptance and understanding mean seeing things from another's perspective, embracing them as they are, and choosing to support rather than change them.

Music is so powerful that it can break down the walls between people, and there are no languages even needed in the musical world. Music can unite people, helping them forget their quarrels and remember they can Work together in harmony. It can make anger or sadness fade into happiness, joy, and peace. Music can express emotions without using a single word, but even if no words are said, one can feel the emotions without being told, the music says it all. In the story, Chester’s music inspired thousands of people. CChester’s music transformed the bustling environment into a peaceful haven; for a moment, everyone paused to listen to his mesmerizing melody. And his music made the friendship between Harry, Tucker, and Chester stronger. Music can bring peace,  make friends, and show feelings even without words.

Music has the power to create friendships and convey emotions without words.
