Summary Peter Pan is a classic fairytale written by J.M barrie in 1911. It talks about the adventures that happened with the Darling’s family, a normal family in London and their three children Wendy, John and Michael. Peter Pan, an eternal child, took Wendy and the children to Neverland, a place where people don’t grow up. Peter’s fairy Tinker Bell was jealous so she told the lost boys, who stayed with Peter to shoot Wendy. While in Neverland, Peter and the lost boys built a home for Wendy and asked her to be their Mother. Together they had many adventures, they went to the mermaid lagoon and they saved the Indian princess Tiger Lily. Captain Hook, Peter's rival, attacked the children so Peter had to battle him. When it was all over, the Darlings returned home, where their parents adopted the lost boys. Peter remains in Neverland, but he takes Wendy’s daughter on adventures.

“All children grow up except one”. In this story, Peter Pan is the one who doesn’t grow up, because being a child, he can avoid all the responsibilities and he doesn’t have to follow the rules set by grown ups. On their way to Neverland, Micheal was falling into the water but Peter didn't help instead played with sharks and went on to his own adventures. He made Wendy take care of the lost boys and refused to help. Peter rather stay in Neverland than being adopted by the Darling family. Being a child is beautiful, but a child can be heartless and carefree.

Some people don't grow up. Mr. Darling grew up in his body, but his mind remained childish. He demanded respect by being boastful and when Mrs. Darling talked to him, he was rude. As a father, he doesn’t care about his children, he is very calculating and doesn’t want to spend money on needed child medications. Mr. Darling felt insecure when he saw his neighbors had nurses, so he used his dog as a nanny just to feel good as they can’t afford a real one. A grown up person shouldn’t behave like a child and only consider themselves.

Those who don't grow up stay immature. There are many grown ups who still act childish. They don’t take responsibility because they don’t want to do all the hard work, they are selfish by only thinking about themselves, and want all the respect they can get. They blame others for their own faults because they don’t want to be in trouble. When someone is immature, it means they aren’t fully grown.

Peter Pan symbolizes a child that stays eternally young. Childhood is a beautiful time that we all enjoy being carefree, full of imaginary adventures. But when children grow into adulthood, a person’s maturity is measured not only by the physical age, but also the state of mind and behaviors towards others. Some people may never grow up and always act like a child. No one likes childish adults.
