This is a story about a boy that wants a cat instead of a dog written by Emily Cheney Neville. His father wants him to get a dog instead of a cat because he thinks that a dog is more educational for a boy. But one day, while the boy was in the house listening to a radio, his father came in and started yelling at him for being in the house and not being outside. So he came out and he headed towards his friend Kate’s house. Kate lived with a bunch of cats so then the boy ask’s Kate if he could have one so Kate gave him one and the boy named the cat, cat.
But here is a question: Why does the title mention Cat? Well Cat is the reason why he made lots of friends and went to new places and had new plots. They are also very similar because both of them are lonely. In this story, the cat has created lots of plots like he is running away from home and he runs away in the middle of the tour. Cats and pets run away a lot because they don’t want to stay in a small house or cage, they want to explore the wild and the world. Pets can be very important on occasion.
Cats also have their own mind and they are also more independent than dogs just like Dave. Like dogs we have to walk them but cats don't, they just sleep all day. Dogs we also have to shower them but cats can just lick their fur and clean by themselves. In the story the cat goes outside on his own but when he comes back he looks very angry at the boy but it is not the boy's fault that he went outside. The cat and the boy are very similar because they both want to be independent, because the boy is growing older and older and the cat just has a mind of his own. But cats are not fully independent, they can’t survive outside alone for one day. People and pets are independent as they grow older.
And family. Family is very important because our families may have made amazing histories and give their lives to save our country, they are also one of the main reasons why we are even here. In this story, some people run away from home and their parents like Tom, he ran away from home and he never came back. Family is one of the most important things because without family, how would we do amazing things, like family is a team so whenever someone gets left behind we always can’t leave without them. We should care for our families because they tried their best to make our lives as easy as possible.
In conclusion, now we know why the title mentions Cat and we also know that cats are more independent than dogs and we also know why family is so important.
